At one point in the podcast, Kramnik dropped this weird take that the biggest issue with the chess community today is that everyone’s too close, too united, and afraid to speak their mind for fear of offending each other. Like, seriously? As if unity is some kind of problem for this sport, or as if the chess world isn’t already packed with people talking behind each other’s backs.

Questioning Danya’s Bc8 move recently)… I just edited in a few of the best Kramnik reactions from his various streams over the last year or so and superimposed the baord on top, just forgot to add 10 eval bars damn 😢

Basic math why Kramnik can't pick a move and claim to expose cheaters in chess. Danny has ~200k games played. Let's say on average each game takes 50 moves and 20 moves are opening theory. This leaves 30 moves that can be questioned as a "non-human looking" move per game and 6 million moves total from all of Danny's games. I am surprised he could only find one... Obviously this CANNOT be used to expose cheaters.

Lately with my online chess, I've been experimenting with a mindset shift whenever I feel that my position is slipping away. I would ask myself "what would Stockfish recommend?" (*without* using Stockfish), and pretend I'm doing a game review where there is one move to save the game. This type of shift allows me to drastically cut down the amount of fear I have with an ugly position. Anyone who does enough game reviews will find that there are plenty of bad positions that can still be saved with precise play. There would be no way that I would have learned such moves without learning from Stockfish with each review. Additionally in blitz, there are moves that will confuse the opponent - basically following Finegold's basic rules including "always play bishop c8" and "always retreat". Quite often, they're not the best moves, but against humans, they're good. I find it absolutely incredible that someone like Kramnik doesn't know that basic rule like I do. It just goes to show how stuck in his old ways he is and hasn't been able to learn anything new since retirement.

I'm glad that the 3 time former world champion is bringing interesting suspicions to the public.. He is not accusing anyone.. He is just asking questions to clarify the many suspicions he has... Chesscom should be investigating the suspects... Some might be baseless but this one definitely has a base.. If you can easily use an engine while a game is going on with all those glances then he can also use it to get to 3200 while playing a 2900 opponent and even against Kramnik since everyone views his take as ridiculous.. Maybe not against Magnus but you never know... He also made everyone aware that Danya and Bortnyk farmed 1800s otb to get to 2700 otb in blitz which is interesting because he avoids world rapid and blitz

That game and his reaction at the end is a perfect example of what the researcher (and chess player himself) said on C2 podcast. People tend to accuse others when they have played a bad game.

I believe the thing about Kramnik playing on other accounts happened in Titled Tuesdays. ChessNetwork took a closer look at some of the specific tournaments, standings, deciding games, opening choices. I don't remember that ChessNetwork concludes anything, but it seemed at least plausible to me that a player or two could have been cheated out of money prizes.

Well when people back the person accused of cheating 100% of the time it’s always going to look that way
@pookz3067
@pookz3067 25 күн бұрын
@@billjones8950he is directly the cause of people backing the person accused of cheating. That phenomena can 100% be traced only to Kramnik’s own actions, as was predicted by everyone. This is in line with how we understand sociology as well. People who act as witch hunters to advocate for more stringent testing end up having the opposite effects. It happens in all cases which is why we knew it would happen. It’s almost like Kramnik is purposefully muddying the waters given how textbook his technique is in undermining the legitimacy of cheating claims.
@billjones8950
@billjones8950 25 күн бұрын
@@pookz3067 well I agree he’s going about it a bad way. But the best place to cheat is a place people will always assume it’s not happening. I wouldn’t bet my life on Daniel not being a cheater. But I also wouldn’t bet on him being one either. But if I had to put money on it I’d bet kramnik is closer to the truth than most people think

After watching this drama unfold for some time, I think Kramnik might have narcissistic personality disorder. If so, his tolerance for the success of others is zero. And he would do and say anything to undermine it. Power and control regarding attention is the issue. There is no reasoning with someone like this. They are a victim and it would be impossible for anyone to legit supercede them, i.e., the “opposition” must be cheating.

How do you know? Lance Armstrong appeared that way. Bernie Madoff did too. Calling Kramnik crazy for questioning things is objectively unfair. Particularly as evidence is mounting. This comment coming from a Danya fan. Absolutely true, he comes across as the straightest and most passionate guy. Well it's starting to look more and more like he is shy of "straight." Which is OK: good guy did a few bad things. What I really don't like: the insults he keeps throwing at Kramnik. Uncalled for, unfair, and I believe strong sign of guilt. Sadly
