At one point in the podcast, Kramnik dropped this weird take that the biggest issue with the chess community today is that everyone’s too close, too united, and afraid to speak their mind for fear of offending each other. Like, seriously? As if unity is some kind of problem for this sport, or as if the chess world isn’t already packed with people talking behind each other’s backs.

Basic math why Kramnik can't pick a move and claim to expose cheaters in chess. Danny has ~200k games played. Let's say on average each game takes 50 moves and 20 moves are opening theory. This leaves 30 moves that can be questioned as a "non-human looking" move per game and 6 million moves total from all of Danny's games. I am surprised he could only find one... Obviously this CANNOT be used to expose cheaters.
@lollycopter25 күн бұрын
Lately with my online chess, I've been experimenting with a mindset shift whenever I feel that my position is slipping away. I would ask myself "what would Stockfish recommend?" (*without* using Stockfish), and pretend I'm doing a game review where there is one move to save the game. This type of shift allows me to drastically cut down the amount of fear I have with an ugly position. Anyone who does enough game reviews will find that there are plenty of bad positions that can still be saved with precise play. There would be no way that I would have learned such moves without learning from Stockfish with each review. Additionally in blitz, there are moves that will confuse the opponent - basically following Finegold's basic rules including "always play bishop c8" and "always retreat". Quite often, they're not the best moves, but against humans, they're good. I find it absolutely incredible that someone like Kramnik doesn't know that basic rule like I do. It just goes to show how stuck in his old ways he is and hasn't been able to learn anything new since retirement.

If you can easily use an engine while a game is going on with all those glances then he can also use it to get to 3200 while playing a 2900 opponent and even against Kramnik since everyone views his take as ridiculous.. Maybe not against Magnus but you never know... After watching this drama unfold for some time, I think Kramnik might have narcissistic personality disorder. If so, his tolerance for the success of others is zero. And he would do and say anything to undermine it. Power and control regarding attention is the issue. There is no reasoning with someone like this. They are a victim and it would be impossible for anyone to legit supercede them, i.e., the “opposition” must be cheating.

Just want you to know that you are no different then Kraamnik. Two sides of the same coin, both extreme, restarded takes.

I had the same thoughts although I also see aspects of it in Hikaru tbh

@@ElReyGarcia11 The difference with Hikaru is that what you see is what you get. Hikaru is honest about who he his and doesn’t hide malicious intent behind a moral facade. I like this about Hikaru.

@@searsino I conclude that your extreme take on me is the third side of this coin.

kramnik reports everyone who beats him. He is a chess god, he doesn't lose, he only gets cheated

The fact that Hikaru spotted the same moves that Danya made in his game against Kramnik, let's us know that the moves were not obscure engine moves, but something GMs would or should just know.

Daniel is a straight guy he just love's playing and teaching Chess . To question his honestly is just crazy.

How do you know? Lance Armstrong appeared that way. Bernie Madoff did too. Calling Kramnik crazy for questioning things is objectively unfair. Particularly as evidence is mounting. This comment coming from a Danya fan. Absolutely true, he comes across as the straightest and most passionate guy. Well it's starting to look more and more like he is shy of "straight." Which is OK: good guy did a few bad things. What I really don't like: the insults he keeps throwing at Kramnik. Uncalled for, unfair, and I believe strong sign of guilt. Sadly

@giulianoroberti2584 he's not just asking questions he's casting aspersions on the guys reputation and using the internet like a hammer when the only tool you've got is a hammer everything looks like nails. I remember when questions were being asked about the toilet gate. bullshit right.he seems to have forgotten.

Making an accusation of cheating without any solid evidence is on par with cheating itself and it should be punished

I am 2200 ex 2400 rating. It is clear that white's strategy is aimed at black squares. Which ultimately triumphed. So the bishop had to be saved at all costs. The first idea is c1. Thanks Hikaru for the brilliant analysis of the game.😎
