Krampus is Santa's anthropomorphic dark side, who punishes naughty children by beating them with a bundle of burch sticks, stuffs them into his sack to drag into the Underworld, or eats them. In Germany, they have Krampus runs where men dress up as the titular demon and parade around in the streets to terrify kids. Ever since I watched the movie Krampus, I've been doing a ton of research on him.

Man, the practical design for Krampus is sick. If you look carefully or pause, you can see that isn't his fucking face. He's WEARING someone's face. The skin is sagging off him and you can kinda see it around the mouth and eye sockets. In fact, the designs for everything was sick in this. They 100% did NOT have to go this hard lol

FUCK YEAH! Been waiting for this reaction for quite some time now. I love almost everything about the movie. The humor, themes, emotional/wholesome moments, the animation of Omi's story, the musical score and the designs of Krampus and his helpers. Each of them were wild and creepy. The Jack in the Box in particular was too much LOL. Also, while some of the characters were downright annoying or unlikeable, I still find them rather entertaining. And yes, I am aware that some of the reactors were confused by the ending. Max, the person who made the wish, chose to repent. By doing this, Krampus allowed him and his family to live... but with a catch. They will be very closely watch from now on. Krampus, while indeed does punish bad children and take them to the underworld, he does gives second chances to those that say sorry or regain their faith in the holiday. All around a good little holiday horror flick. Its also from the same people who did Trick r Treat as well.

@rodgill937611 ай бұрын
And the answer to your question, Krampus is described as looking like a goat/like creature with hooves and horns with long fingers. Krampus basically looks like a more animal-demonic looking version of Santa, which is why he wears a screaming Santa skin mask. Krampus is also very old. We're not really sure how old but everyone agrees that he's at least a few thousand years old. I think its also implied that he does have the ability to speak but choses not to. Least from what I gathered in my head. If I recalled correctly, Krampus was a folktale that started in Austria or Hungary. He was used as a scare-them-straight method to children's parents as a means to frightening them into obeying them lest they become the next victims of Krampus and taken to Hell. So yeah, he is not to be messed with.

Interesting interpretation of the ending. I choose to think that they got a second chance. That the snow globe was a way for Krampus to keep an eye on the family. They left the ending open-ended. If the director/story included a loop of Max waking up the next day and the same thing happens, like it was still 25th December, then maybe it means the family is trapped inside 'hell'/ Krampus' prison.
@zimvader2510 ай бұрын
You choose to believe the correct interpretation. I have no idea where people got that they were trapped in the globe. Santa uses globes to keep track of people in plenty iterations of the character and ive never heard anyone say “tHeYre tRapPeD iN tHerE fOrEveR” thats just goofy. In the Disney santa clause movies charley literally has a globe that shows his dad flying around in it, that doesn’t mean his dad is actually in the damn globe. The comics which this movie is based on make it clear that the globes are just watching glasses but I guess the director should’ve included random kids playing outside in the snow, for the slow goody folks.

Yeah, more viewers confused by the ending transition. Krampus keeps an eye on everyone who gets a bell for a warning. They are not trapped in the snow globe. Giving the bell would make no sense if he took them and they're trapped forever. I like the ending. It makes it a perfect Christmas movie. It captures the spirit of the holiday!
