@@Omega-jg4oq That's just because you actively ignore the character's journey throughout the Greek saga. It ignores that he was a selfish genocide before the pact with Ares. He made the pact out of selfish ambitions. He used his new powers and weapons to carry out more genocides. And then he played the victim when two of the thousands of innocent people killed... turned out to be his wife and daughter - otherwise he would have continued. Then he spent 10 years doing work for the gods, not to redeem himself, but to have the punishment imposed on him removed - the nightmares. He never asked for forgiveness for doing what he did and he never had any regrets. And since the nightmares didn't take away and he considered himself wronged, he began to use the position of god of war and Sparta to attack the rest of Greece-in a similar way to what Ares was doing previously. He sank Atlantis. He caused torture, slavery, rape and mad death throughout Greece, as well as hunger and misery (according to Demeter and Hestia herself in book 2 of the saga). The gods decided to put an end to it. Then he feels wronged again (????) and causes armageddon in Greece. The character makes obvious analyzes during the Norse saga. There were gods who deserved to die and pay for their crimes, but not all of them, even less all those innocent people he killed. And more than that: Kratos was never a hero or anti-hero there. The character admits this. The supporting actors admit this. The developers admit this. History literally dictates this. But fans of the character justify the unjustifiable in an illogical way.

Santa Monica really could have made a Kratos Vs Kratos boss fight but decided to do a cut scene instead which I think is more impactful. Kratos coming to terms with what he did, accepting it, and hoping for a brighter future and to be better. Also Odin had every reason to be afraid of Tyr, the man is just strong as hell. Shout-out to Crispin "Alucard" Freeman as Helios mf nailed it. And if this is the ending to Kratos and God of War as a whole then I'd say well done. Farewell Kratos of Sparta, long may he reign the God of Hope.

It's awesome to see Týr as the final boss fight to this game and possibly to Kratos' entire saga, as he is the perfect mirror of him, a demi-god with God of War status. His equal. And it is also amazing for this equal to actually treat Kratos with respect during their duels. He is not like Thor, relishing in his own power, he is instead guiding Kratos in combat towards a better self. After all the prideful and boastful gods who were putting themselves above Kratos and belittleing him, it is a great change to end it with someone who fights him out of respect and friendship instead of the opposite.

Kratos admits throughout the journey - and more vehemently in this DLC - how monstrous and psychopathic he was in the past and how his personal losses do not justify him having committed genocide against thousands of people who had nothing to do with it - including, considering that he himself was basically a villain even before making the pact with Ares. Kratos' entire Journey in the Greek saga is that of a villain who seeks to be forgiven and then gives in to his own dark side. But there is a legion of fans of the character who prefer to ignore all of this, including the character's dialogue, and try to claim that he "was right" in some distorted way. This is simply comical.

Yes, I am literally crying right now, looking at that ending that brings us to previous god of war trilogy and its subs, remembering how we love this game since 2007, I believe. The entire dialogue and soundtracks bring you back to a particular time of the old times. "Owh, that was one of the dialogues from god of war 3!", "Owh! that was the soundtrack of God of War Ascension!" But I will go in-depth, if you are not interested don’t waste my time. And way the franchise down? 2018s was fine, it was a waterd down version of the games but yet it was good and epic as the older games although a bit more safe then what you’d except a GOW game. They didn’t change to much and kept the GOW identity, but Ragnarok??? Yeah Ragnarok was clearly many to be the 3rd game and a way more watered down game than the last and lost its identity and appeal to those who made the games as famous as they are now. The amazing gameplay and the amazing story and epic and sad story of the OG games was consistent in tone with the whole 6 games, but Ragnarok is a mediocre mess, again if you want context I’ll happily oblige, if not don’t waste my time.
