Honestly I still think hesphaestus tricked kratos into killing him because he didn’t want to witness/be alive for what was to come. Just give kratos a dying wish to protect pandora. Otherwise why would he upgrade his weapon before trying to kill him?

@@joakimalgry5325 Yes and no, that’s Hesiod’s account of Hephaestus’ birth, where Hera has a parthenogenous child in retaliation to Zeus fathering Athena with Metis. Other versions have Hephaestus as Zeus and Hera’s child, or there’s Homer’s work where there isn’t sufficient evidence to say that Zeus is the father but Hera is definitely the mother. You can’t just go say something is wrong about mythology without digging a little because ancient writers never agree with each other.

I like the part where Mimir calls Kratos' fables "laconic"; which means "using few words" but specifically because it was Spartan culture. Sparta being in "Lakonia."
@TheLast0ne

Yeah I don't know about English but in German we can say that something is "spartanisch" (eng.: something spartan) and mean that something is simple/minimalistic. Funny how two languages take something from the same culture to describe something because that culture was THAT known for it

@@ZesPak I can confirm that the word we use in Greek to say someone uses few words is "laconic"(λακωνικός). If we say Spartan it means they originate from Sparta and I believe the same is true for English. I cannot speak for why German adopted the form "spartanisch".

I really love how much of Kratos' dialogue is him essentially trying to convince people that he's not a complete crayon eater and can do things that aren't just killing gods and everyone he tries to tell just gives him the ole, "Sure Kratos. I'm sure you are trying your best to be normal, *insert backhanded compliment*".

The quest to open Pandora's box in GOW 3 *is* quite ironic. Y'know, obtaining the power to kill a god, while killing a dozen or so gods and titans, just to get it. Hell, we literarily start the game by killing Poseidon and Hades, the brothers of Zeus, who are supposed to be somewhat equal to him in power!

Well to be fair Kratos killed Hephaestus purely out of self-defense and he also was hesitant to sacrifice Pandora due to her reminding him of Calliope. Speaking of Hephaestus he could've gotten along with the dwarven brothers if they cross path and decide to form a team of blacksmiths
