Good detail with regard to how both the Ark and the Ark of the Covenant are both of God - they exhibit the same power
@dafilmqueen5564 күн бұрын
Which is funny since technically the Ark itself should’ve been irrelevant after Jesus Christ sacrificed himself to save humanity, because his sacrifice for humanity is more crucial. The Ark should’ve technically been destroyed a long time ago, and the fact that it isn’t means that someone tried to use it when it wasn’t even needed anymore, but God said nope and cursed the Ark to be so powerful that nobody in their right mind would ever want to open it and use its power. This is why you should throw away your broken refrigerator and replace it with a new one-stuff like this happens (*remembers how the Nazis died in the original movie and is traumatized*💀)..

As with all Indiana Jones endings - he is superfluous to them. With or without Indy the Nazis always get the artifact in the end , but they fail some moral lesson and die (the Arc, the cup, now the Ark all kill them in the end).
@dafilmqueen5563 күн бұрын
It’s actually weirdly poetic in a way. The hero may not be the one who defeats the villain, but the villains still get what they deserve. Indy is simply the smartest for knowing that there’s a price to power and that the cost is just too great to pay, so he backs off or follows the instructions given in order to survive. That in my opinion is the most satisfying part about Indy-he’s not just a mindless treasure hunter/archeologist, he knows his limits, and he also knows to never take power that does not belong to any human without understanding the consequences for it.

@@Lord-of-D, which is how you know never to defy God himself. If he tells you not to touch something, it’s because he wants you to be safe, so don’t disobey or it won’t be God’s punishment that will kill you but rather your own stupidity. These Nazid never learn..

@dafilmqueen556 Exact same logic is found in touching a hot stove or staying out in below freezing temperatures too long. Whether the consequence is immediate or delayed, it's best not to entreat it. The core lesson of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Genesis 2:16-17 King James Version 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Why are villains always getting destroyed by the power they seek?
@rorieb2020 күн бұрын
Well I think it's about their own arrogance and hubris. Here Indy pointed out Noah was chosen by God. Moses was chosen for the ark of the covenant, the grail knight warned them about the seal that protected the grail, Inia was not specific when she requested " to know everything" so a hive mind of aliens gave her all their knowledge in one go it destroyed her. And Mola Ram was a high priest of the opposite religion of Shiva so the stones betrayed him as they were designed to combat evil.

@@rorieb20, that’s honestly my favorite thing about Indiana Jones-he’s literally the one guy in the room who knows not to mess with things beyond human comprehension and to always follow the instructions given by God to stay safe from any power too costly to handle. If the Nazis were as humble and as smart as Indy, they’d stay away, but they don’t and that’s the best part about their deaths-they have nobody to blame but themselves for pursuing power not meant for any human to bear..

You know, Locus being a giant is hilarious when you consider how brutally hardcore Bible history can be (and I’m talking as the eldest daughter of a family of Jehovah’s Witnesses, so I’ll be using the words canonically and historically in the same sentence to describe what Bible history says in my reference points). The giants depicted in the Bible were called Nephilim which is meant to be translated as fellers, as in people who cause others to fall. This makes sense considering how the Nephilim were born out of the very forbidden relationships between angels who rebelled against God by taking human form and marrying human wives, and how the Nephilim were such awful people that they contributed to most of the population falling from grace. Canonically (and historically), the Nephilim were flooded along with the rest of humanity at the time because they didn’t care to listen to God when they were told about the flood and mocked Noah for the arc. And we know they had no excuse to disobey either-it’s established that Noah was literally 500 years when he had his kids and it took him 40-50 years to work on the arc (and yes people, humans were that much more long lived than humans today. They were just straight up hardcore in that era). It’s also canon (and historically accurate) that demons are angels who rebelled against God and chose to embrace evil, so Locus being called a demon by Father Ventura during the beginning sections of the game is technically true in a vicious way. Considering this is a franchise that heavily features biblical iconography and context for the background of some of its stories, a giant being an enemy turned ally of Indiana Jones is so poetically ironic in a weird way. Leave it to Indiana Jones to make use of Bible history in a fictional context and just roll with it so well that you don’t lose it..😂

Why is it that Indiana Jones villains always search for stuff from Bible history? First it was the Ark of the Covenant, then it was butchering Jehovah’s name by replacing the J with an I, and now it’s Noah’s ark. I mean, it’s nice that people are interested in Bible history, but they keep butchering Bible history searching for arks that should’ve ceased to exist long time ago in this universe. Not to mention, those things always seem to have power when otherwise they didn’t have power before. Lol, I can’t even believe the Indiana Jones franchise is so obsessed with Bible history but just go hard on making them OP..😂
