I figured after all the other Sony Spiderman "villain" movies I knew what this movie would be going in terms of tone, and therefore wasn't disappointed. Out of all the Sony Spiderman "villain" movies, this is the best, but that isn't saying anything. Waiting to see what the MCU will do post Multiverse Saga and not connect better made movies (hopefully) to the MCU (even as lightly as the universe has) would be Sony's best option going forward. But the upcoming movies mentioned seems will be either before said Multiverse Saga is over or has to be tied to it because of how its past things are. For now I put it in Phase Three just before _Ant Man and the Wasp._

Having a legit comic book super-villain movie feels like such a slam dunk of an idea that I don't understand why the MCU, Sony, DC have done it-- all their villain shows/movies end up with redeemed/anti-hero characters at most. I know we have Penguin and Joker from DC but I'd like a full on fantastical villain movie with a legit evil plot that succeeds with the same scale/ impact as the super heroes... like Ultron, Doom, Namor or Deathstroke, Flash's Rogues, Legion of Doom etc.... all have the capacity to pull off a powerful villain story that impacts their respective shared universe and I feel like it's idea with so much story and financial potential.... you can even have an established super hero play the "villain"/antagonist of the movie that loses/gets beaten by the villain. I think the closest we got was Thanos' journey in Infinity War and the Harley Quinn animated series but there's definitely more that could be done.. I know the DCU has a Clayface movie coming out which sounds great since it's Mike Flanagan doing it and we have rumors of a possible Flash Rogue's movie and a possible Deathstroke/Bane team up movie.... I'm really rooting for those projects to kill it Edit-- I just remembered about Agatha lol... that definitely counts but maybe I wasn't thinking about it since it's more of a personal story than a greater lore related plot

Yeah, it's so wild to see a successful villain show like Penguin or Agatha and compare that to what Sony has done with Morbius, Kraven and Madame Web. It's a world of difference. I think Sony succeeded with Venom simply because of his popularity and so they thought they could just throw together any story and make it work.

Tbh pretty sure you’ve nailed it with the placements although definitely should move Madame Web to the beginning of the SSU timeline as that is part of the same universe even though there are no Easter eggs to suggest it it is unlikely Sony made a movie not connected to their mediocre universe

The director seemed to indicate it's a different world in this article: movieweb.com/madame-web-spider-man-movie-standalone-world/. Additionally, Peter Parker would be 17 in 2020 and yet we don't have a Spider-Man in the Venom-verse. So it seems like Madame Web isn't connected.

All I want is a Spider-Man Rogue focused movie that just straight up shows us that Spider-Man exists and is active. I don't care if it's Tom Holland or Andrew Garfield, just give us the character. They could've given us a live action Miles by now! My pitch would be something with Black-Cat. It's about her backstory, finding out her dad's a thief, becoming one herself, ect. She bumps into Spidey on a rooftop and they have a little convo that leads to a casual but intimate relationship. The romance between them is very important to the story but the focus is completely on her and the character isn't defined by her connection with the webslinger.

The only thing I can think of is that both Kraven and Morbius take place in the same month First would be Rhino escape which is mentioned in the Newspapers, then the Kraven Events would end 1 week or a few days before the Morbius Events, in that time frame Dimitri would become the Chameleon and the Morbius Events would give the mention of the Chameleon escape in the Newspapers If Dmitri did not know that his brother was the Hunter then how would Kraven know that Dmitri was the Chameleon, he would discover that 1 year later in the Epilogue Conclusion: Kraven and Morbius are set in June 2019 and Kraven Epilogue is set in June 2020 (Unless in the Wiki Fandom they clarify where the Movie is set or at least put Rhino death date as they did with the Symbiotes in Venom 3 who died in July 2021)

Ugh, yeah, it seems we almost need to call the Rhino reference a joke, as there was no point in time that the Rhino was alive and while Dmitri was the Chameleon, since he didn't become the Chameleon until after the Rhino was killed. Plus, no reason Dmitri would be arrested prior to the Rhino's death. Sony, you're making this really difficult once again!

I agree with you! I could see everything in Kraven the Hunter and Morbius taking place within the same week, or maybe Kraven the Hunter happens in March 2019 right before the main events of the Venom film, but after the prologue of the Venom film. If you look at the weather there is Snow and the trees don't have a lot of leaves. Maybe the ending of Kraven the Hunter takes place in March 2020. Maybe the reason COVID 19 doesn't happen in this universe is because Morbius found a cure, before the disease started, I mean we all know it started in a lab in China with a Bat. By the way, here is the timeline! 2003: Madame Web 2018: Venom 2019: Kraven the Hunter, Morbius 2020: Venom Let There Be Carnage 2021: Venom The Last Dance Can't wait to see the Sinister Six King in Black film in a few years I want to see a proper conclusion to this storyline.

Here's my take on SSU & Kraven the hunter, firstly the cinematography of sony marvel movies are solid! Next is, instead of making these 6 movies they could have made the very 6 movies as 6 series under the umbrella of TASM Universe, because every trailer and movies in one way or the other it's connected with TASM 1 & 2, this kraven movie felt like a soft origins about the gentleman/jackal which was connected to the TASM-3 : Clone saga, and another thing i loved about this is this movie has shown me, they don't need spidey, because this very movie gave me flashbacks of Spider-Man 1995 series and the episodes related with Kalypso and kraven the hunter, it's authentic with that! Sony Spider-Man less universe can survive via bringing back Andrew Garfield spider + a 9 year old peter parker from madam webb because this universe spider-man(andrew) has joined the spider society right after the events of TASM 2, and the andrew garfield spider is a variant one before joining spider society he ended up in NWH and ends back in his own universe like a variant and this universe chose its anchor beings who are 9 year old parker and Dylan brock ! if 9 year old peter dies then this variant andrew spider dies as well! making this universe where variant parker from nwh landed a direct variant universe to TASMVERSE, all new but same TASMVERSE-B with cured electro and lizard being in this timeline with a new identites like connors taking up the name as martin! Rhino in this movie especially his cgi part is good because they were soo close , they could've fixed his face! That hypnosis spider has the same design as the Tasm spider logo! Maybe, for rhino they can't use any rhino villain material they've already used in animated shows! that's why they have taken this route which was the same exact problem i had with hulk in age of ultron! my ratings for this movies are 7/10! i felt like this movie is a soft copy of boyka and a bollywood movie named "ANIMAL".

The scene where calypso looked up the articles about the hunter probably has some timeline clues, but the presence of smartphones and flatscreens prove it’s not a period piece, although Kraven’s comics history of being born before the Bolshevik revolution would have allowed them to make a period piece if they wanted to. I think chameleon should have been the main villain instead of rhino with chameleon faking his own kidnapping and spending years impersonating their father for years, once he killed him after Kraven ran away from home. Kraven and chameleon’s brotherly bond was way better handled than Morbius and Milo’s similar relationship.

I like your twist for this movie more than what was actually given to us, and it would have actually made a brother vs brother movie more engaging in this first film than whatever that ending was trying to set up for a possible sequel. Also, I both agree and disagree with you on the bond of Kraven/Chameleon being stronger than Michael/Milo, because this movie does arguably devote more time to the half-brother's relationship than in the latter film, but I buy Milo's turn to the dark side a hell of a lot more than Dmitri's sudden contempt for Sergei.

The Black Adam post-credit scene was awesome when we thought it was going somewhere...and then ofc became a total joke once everything imploded for the DCEU.

Agreed that the pacing and boring scenes really brought the movie down. For an origin movie I was disappointed by lack of scenes showing why he is the best hunter. Finally, Sony’s continued attempts to make villains into heroes is not really my preference.

Yeah, I wondered about doing a spoiler-free vid...but I honestly figured most people are going to be like yourself and not watch it at the theatre, so I just figured one would do. And I agree, it's not a terrible movie. I suspect if Madame Web and Morbius hadn't been so bad, people would have given the movie a chance. But everyone was so burned by Sony, that Kraven was doomed from the start.

I have all of them to say of Kraven the Hunter Ending Explained: Sequel Setup and for Spoilers!! 1. In the climax of Kraven the Hunter, the titular character confronts Aleksei Sytsevich, who transforms into the Rhino thanks to Dr. Miles Warren (The Jackal). 2. Kraven defeats Rhino but discovers his father, Nikolai, orchestrated the assassination attempt against him. 3. After a confrontation, Kraven allows a bear to ki*l his father, only to learn his brother, Dmitri, has become the Chameleon, also with Warren's help. 4. The film concludes with Kraven, now sporting his classic comic book vest, preparing to confront his brother, setting up a potential sequel. 5. Jackal's involvement suggests a pattern of creating animalistic villains, potentially avoiding other Spider-Man villains like Scorpion and Doctor Octopus. 6. Despite the sequel setup, a follow-up is considered unlikely, and the movie notably avoids any direct connection to Spider-Man. 7. The ending departs from the source material's 'Kraven's Last Hunt' storyline, offering a different direction for the character's future. 8. When the rumours of Sony wanting to do something with Kraven first started I was so excited for a full legitimate Kraven's Last Hunt film, especially given where Spiderman is at as a character in his arc right now. And I honestly think Spiderman could have benefitted from going full Empire Strikes Back, just to play with the formula. Do it as a 2 parter and end the 1st with Kraven's victory and Spiderman seemingly dying. I wouldn't even announce it as part 1, just have it end like that, seeming as if it's a stand alone movie, and then wait a few months to announce there's actually a part 2. It might have even brought back a bit of that excitement superhero films have lost through being predictable. Imagine the buzz and the headlines. Especially if the marketing subtly hinted at it being Tom Holland's last film or the end of this Spiderman, etc, to throw everyone off. As soon as they said Kraven was a standalone film, all my excitement died because I knew exactly what it was going to be. It was going to be the absolute worst most unimaginative interpretation possible.

I think I like the look of the Rhino in Kraven more. With a few tweaks it could be perfect (I'm taling about the design, not the CG). That said, I do think TASM2's Rhino makes more sense in that specific universe. And I actually like Paul Giamatti's performance, so... Both?

For some reason my head invented an stupid theory that is fake but I will say it the Rhino from Kraven the Hunter is the Same from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 but with different actors and my theory is that after Rhino lost his battle with Spider-Man he decided to be part of an experiment who became him a Rhino but me myself I deny this theory because from the earths name and the personality of the two Rhinos because are different

I have to say I thought Kraven was a really fun movie! It was visually great cgi wise, it had good action and fight sequences, it didn’t shy away from violence without it being over the top and it was a pretty compelling story. Imo there were just a few scenes that felt very flat because of the occasional barebones script

I don’t know if Madame Web is in the same universe as Venom, Morbius and Kraven because the director said that is in a different universe but there’s a marvel fans debate and I saw this on Reddit that Madame Web is set in earth-688d the same from Venom, Morbius and Kraven so I’m so confuse right now

Yeah, I suspect people will debate that question for a long time. The biggest reason I don't think it's the same universe is Peter Parker would be 17 in 2020 (since he was born in 2003) and yet we don't have a Spider-Man in the Venom universe. So I do think it's a different universe.

It's definitely the best of the Sony villain movies that are not venom movies but still not very good. I finally watched Morbius and madame web and well, Morbius is terrible and boring, but madame web was actually kinda fun. No idea on the timeline, I already told you the last video.

I think generally the film was better than most of this universe. But, unfortunately, it doesn't take the time to properly explain anything. Ignoring the fact it tells us important information rather than showing us (which I truly do not care about if there's genuinely no good place something to be shown without hurting the flow of the movie), but there are also several things that ere neither shown to us NOR told to us. They just... Happen. But the emotional core of the film is stronger than most of the others, and the general plot is pretty solid. My favorite of the franchise is still Venomv: The Last Dance, but Kracen isn't far behind it.

Man I really don’t think this movie is great or anything special but the way people are treating this movie is SO unfair. People are acting like it’s the worst movie ever, judging it entirely off of Sonys previous mistakes and not giving it a chance and acting like it’s downright awful and unenjoyable. It’s nothing special it’s really like a 6-7/10 but people are taking this way too far and way out of hand. I felt the same thing with Madame web but at least I agreed that movie was downright awful after the first like 20 mins. This is fine enough. Calling it the worst thing ever is just too far imo.

Can you please connect Madame Web to the timeline? We know that at the end of Madame Web, Mary Parker gives birth to Peter Parker and Ben Parker is in attendance, then During the Spider-Man No Way Home post credits scene, Eddie Brock says, "Maybe I should go to New York and speak with this Spider-Man." By the way the weather during the Kraven The Hunter film looks like it takes place during late November or early December. I do agree that the Daily Bugle newspaper headline helps place the film in the correct time slot. Here we go with the timeline! Sony's Spider-Man Universe 2003: Madame Web 2018: Venom, Kraven The Hunter 2019: Morbius 2020: Venom Let There Be Carnage 2021: Venom The Last Dance I do think the Sony's Spider-Man Universe will continue on, we still need to get the King in Black storyline, where Vulture, Morbius, Kraven the Hunter, Chameleon and Madame Web team up to defeat Knull and stop the Symbiote invasion saving Earth-688, we know this will happen, because the Director of Venom The Last Dance and even Andy Serkis himself confirmed this back in October.

Yeah, the King in Black tease really makes me think the universe will be returning after a few years. As for Madame Web, direct SJ Clarkson said: "She's definitely in a standalone world. I was able to just have free rein and let the movie be what it needed to be, as opposed to trying to force it into something else. That was a gift, in a way, to be able to take something and bring a fresh and I hope original take to it."

Spider-Man King in Black: Peter Parker is dealing with what just happened in Avengers Doomsday, seeing the face of Victor von Doom. Madame Web foresees the coming attack of Knull and the Symbiote invasion, but what she does not see is the imminent Incursion. Madame teams up with Vulture, Morbius, Kraven the Hunter, Chameleon, Agony and the three Spider-Women she adopted back in 2003. The Spider-Man rogues learn that Earth-688 is doomed to die, so they travel the Multiverse to Earth-616 and meet Tom Holland's Spider-Man warning him about Knull. Tom Hardy cameos as the voice of the Venom Symbiote. Star-Lord has been training Spider-Man. Knull confirms that he chopped of the head of Knowhere. Knull is defeated. Spider-Man is revealed to be the Earth-616 Anchor being. The forget Peter Parker spell is broken and MJ reunites with Peter Parker. The post credits scene can be Doctor Doom creating battle world.

The biggest reason I think Madame Web isn't in the same universe is there is no Peter Parker or Spider-Man in Kraven, Morbius or Venom's movies and he would be 17 by then. So it seems it's a different branch. As for Kraven, I'm waiting for it to hit Netflix so I can scan for more dates. As for the Endgame for Knull, it's so hard to tell. Sony is such a hot mess. Sigh.

I honestly hope that Sony will stop it with the Spider-Man villains movies, because the concept alone is just so stupid. This was Kravens first live action apperance and your gonna telling me that he will never interact with Spider-Man? This like saying for Batman villains who got their first live action apperance, but will never interact with Batman. Sony just should partnership with Marvel Studios. After the last 10 years they shown that they are not capable to do it alone.
