The only autograph I have ever asked anyone for was Crazy George. We were at an Oakland Athletics game and he was sitting in front of us with no drum just watching the game like the rest of us blending into the crowd as a fan. We just let him be and enjoy the game. When he got up to leave he signed my cow bell which used to be popular to bring to A’s games back in the day. He is a one of a kind unique sports legend.👍
@kenmello2808Ай бұрын
Before the A’s he was a main stay at Oakland Seals games. He’s had 1/2 of the arena yelling “Seals”, followed by the other side of the arena going “Ooh Ooh”. Surprised the Sharks didn’t use him.

I remember him leading the cheers for the BC Lions of the CFL. He got the wave going at BC Place Stadium. I think he also did the Vancouver Canucks.

The A's unique culture at the Coliseum is 2nd to none. Not only Krazy George but MC Hamner was a batboy and assistant to Charlie Finley and Debbie Fields was a ball girl in the early 70s. The job as a teen helped launch her cookie business .

And yet Dodgers fans will never have to worry about dodgers leaving. At least our management makes sure that the stadium is kept up to date and we will never have to worry about counting down the days till the final game before they disappear.

@snowsensesАй бұрын
I did some research, it's called the Mexican Wave overseas 'cause of the 1984 world cup, years after Krazy George first started it in Oakland
@brgillenwaterАй бұрын
The wave might have been invented in Oakland so you feel obligated to do it but don't. The A's lost that game against the Yankees on October 15, 1981 3-0. For the 20th win in a row we blew a 11-0 lead while the wave was going but got the walk-off once it stopped. It's bad luck, cheer for the players, pay attention to the game, and not to some guy getting paid to be there.
@trainwreck9567Ай бұрын
So it's this guy's fault. Lol. F the wave.
