I’m a 68 model and have been into Kreator since day one,I even had/listen to the Tormentor demos before that as a tape traitor.Probably seen them live 10 times +. I like your list but I will advise you to give Renewel more time I think you haven’t got into it enough,it’s without doubt one of the best kreator albums but maybe the hardest to get into.My favourite album is Endless Pain it has always been and will always be 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Cool to pick "Renewal"!, I also like that album no matter what the critcs say. I also like "Cause for Conflict" and "Endorama". My nr.1 Kreator album is without a doubt "Enemy of God", that album grew on me after years (before Coma of Souls was my nr.1). From the experimental years "Outcast" is my fav. album and also one of my favs.

ENDLESS PAIN has some sort of serious developmental significance in the history of "Extreme metal". I cant say for sure exactly what it is, but play that next to HELL AWAITS and MORBID VISIONS. It holds up real well, a definate contender. And these were teenage kids. It is often overlooked in favor of the next one and a few others, but I think its very special.

Great review Darcy! A great band with a great diversified catatog. I had a chance to discover them already in 1989 (with "Some Pain Will Last" live on a German tv channel) and I was hooked. Even if, as you, the vocals annoyed me at first ;-) My top 5 would be Endorama Extreme Aggession Outcast Pleasure to Kill Phantom Antichrist I get the point about some not liking Endorama ... and I consider it almost as a CORONER album (Tommy Vetterli' previous group) with Mille Petrozza singing on it. By the way, I would love to listen your review of CORONER's discography, as this extraordinary group remains in my TOP 3 since 1987 (not only Thrash but music in general).

At the time, i didn't rally know what black or death metal was. I just liked the rawness and loved Mille's vocals. The 80s output was amazing. 90s stuff, they did drop off a bit. I do agree that Endorama is under rated. But they returned to form big time. Love their last few albums. Dont mind the catchy choruses at all. You could only get them on import in the UK at the time, they cost me £5.99 each, which was quite a bit more expensive than UK released albums but the music was unbelievable and definitely worth it. So many of those bands on the Noise label in the 80s are still among may favs today. Great band that I've been listening to since Terrible Certainty. My top 5 1. Extreme Aggression 2. Terrible Certainty 3. Pleasure to Kill 4. Coma of Souls 5. Endless Pain Not a huge fan of the rest. They are ok. I find their recent album boring & a bit to melodic compared to the era I enjoy. What about a Destruction album ranking. I'm not sure if you have done one before. I agree out of all the most recent Kreator I enjoy Enemy of God is the best & would probably be my number 6 album.

Destruction & Sodom ranking videos will be sometime in the future, still missing a couple from each band. Sorry I’m not the guy who puts the little picture to left of his fat head lol, gotta have the physical album to hold up. I wish I would’ve known Kreator in 1987 like you. Thanks as always Jeff 🤘 Have a great holiday weekend :))

I love Kreator, but it's sad to see how tame they have become. From one of the most innovative metal bands to absolute entry level metal over and over (Gods of Violence etc.) They just play it safe nowadays with polished production and simple song structures. For me they are on a level with Arch Enemy and Amon Amarth now and that is not a good thing.

Renewal will always be the worst for me then Endorama. I hate Renewal, it's hard to believe it's the same line up that did Coma of Souls. I ended up selling the four albums they did in the 90s. I would place Terrible Certainty #1 and Pleasure to Kill #2. I will go out on a limb and put the Ep Flag of Hate as #3 simply because Awakening of the Gods and Flag of Hate are my 2 favourite Kreator songs. I can't think of how I'd rate the rest. I will say Kreator was a better 80s band then Sodom, but Sodom was a better 90s band. The interesting thing about the first two albums is that Mille and Ventor shared lead vocals because Mille didn't have confidence in his vocals yet. Terrible Certainty was my first album so I was slightly disappointed when Extreme Aggression came out, not with the songs but with the production. The guitars felt thin, over polished, and less aggressive then the go for the throat rawer production of Terrible Certainty and Pleasure to Kill, which I preferred.

I’m still missing 4 of the 90’s Sodom albums, hope they reissue them soon. Tapping The Vein & Code Red are awesome! Great comment as usual 🤘 Cheers Greg
