Just used these 32l bags for 10 days in Colombia and hated them but just realized I was missing the center strap that holds them on the bike! Whenever I'd loosen the straps to get inside a pannier it would fall off the bike because I wasn't using the center strap. Noted!

I know it's been 3 years since you left this comment, but it's the little rectangular buckles that hold the bag onto the rack thing. They go through the slots like buttons on a shirt.

OS-6 is weirdly small. Bought a pair to replace my givi crash bar bags (garbage) that are 5 liters. These “6” liter bags are noticeably smaller. Should’ve gotten the OS-12s. Look at the 6 on top of the 12. That 12 looks like more than twice as big.

Thanks for this great review. I haven‘t found info on where (on the OS-32 bags) all the other bags (OS-18, OS-12 and OS-6) can be mounted. Could you point out where each of them could be mounted? I.e: OS-12: Top, Front, Back and Side of the OS-32. Also, can the mounting plate be mounted to round pannier rack tubes (like BMW F800GS OEM Aluminium pannier rack)?
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 6 жыл бұрын
To start with the rack mounting, the OS-Platform Plate is available in two types: SW-Motech EVO-compatible and 18mm-19mm tube-compatible. If your rack tubes are 18mm-19mm, then the Kriega Plate would be compatible. For bag mounting/stacking, only the OS-12 and OS-6 are intended to be mounted on the larger OS-32 or mounted as tank/tail bags. The OS-32 is generally intended just as a side pannier. The OS-18 can be mounted as a side pannier or a tail bag. See the photos on the product pages below for reference. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-os-platform-2016 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-overlander-s-os-32-drypack *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-overlander-s-os-18-drypack *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-overlander-s-os-12-drypack *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-overlander-s-os-6-drypack

Heya, thanks for this review. I'm currently planning a round the world trip after corona has died down and I'm looking at different brands of soft panniers because I don't want to have hard panniers for the reasons you described. There are a couple of big brands that I see around for soft luggage like Mosko and Kriega. Would you recommend these panniers? Every review I read of them is positive but there's a lot too choose from so I just want to ask in case I miss another brand/set up. Cheers!

Are the gears (camera, drone, laptop...) you place inside protected if falling over? And does it close with a lock system? Thank you
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 4 жыл бұрын
No, since these are soft luggage options and there are no harder outer parts it won't protect internal items. You are likely looking for hard luggage instead. And these do not close with a locking mechanism as the video shows them just rolling up. Hello I have 2 questions : - When you have a OS12 on top of the OS32 pannier, is the length of the steelcore security strap long enough to go around both ? - Is it possible to mix US20 and OS32 ?
@surlyfan
@surlyfan 2 жыл бұрын
I have a US20, I think you could easily strap it to the OS32 with the straps that come with the US20.

In 30 years of adventure riding never seen a BMW lose an aluminum case. Even if they did why can't you lash an aluminum case on just as easy as a soft one? I have had my soft bags sliced open and all the contents were stolen.

Are those 10L bags compatible with the Kreiga backpacks?
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 7 жыл бұрын
While I haven't had the opportunity to test this theory yet, I suspect that with a little ingenuity you'd be able to connect the buckles from the Overlander bags to the loops on either side of the backpacks to add a bit of expansion. -TeamZilla Chris

Try shopping overseas for Kriega. Or any other non-American moto brand for that matter. Soo much cheaper to import it yourself.

XSADV Negative the bags over seas are 240 pounds or something like that and when I put in a calculator to convert to Dollars comes to 300 dollars a bag. So it would be more expensive to buy overseas then pay for shipping. Maybe in other instances but here revzilla is the best bet.

I have Kriega gear, and a few months ago I had an accident and the backpack R30 had to be cut by the paramedics, contacted Kriega and they fixed it all for free. You pay for quality and great customer service, it's not cheap, the materials are not cheap, R&D is not cheap and the labour is not cheap either, you see a product, I see a company that is thriving to be successful by having great customer support and great products out there to help us all have a better experience.

No key lock is the main problem. Thief can just use knife and steal everything.
@ChevronDanbira
@ChevronDanbira 7 жыл бұрын
Thief could also use the same knife to breach the plastic locks on most hard luggage systems nowadays. The main thing that you want is that they are at least secured to the bike itself, so that thiefs cant just run away in an instant with your luggage. Hard luggage systems do that with built in locks. But with the Kriega setup you can also use steel cable and a beefy padlock to secure it to the bike. They also designed it that way. I also think that it is harder than you think to slice through the 1000D fabric.
@ggarland7170
@ggarland7170 7 жыл бұрын
ChevronDanbira can you demonstrate how hard it is to cut? maybe the factory can send samples of the material and you can try to cut it. the first thing I thought about was how easy this will be to steal. on the flip side the weight savings is incredible AND it's exactly what I would like for my commute to school
