Literally one of my very few gripes with the game. Why are whip and spear attacks not disjointed? It's not a deal killer or anything at all, and I'm still gonna play 1000 hours with Anila, but it's just so bizarre when you get hit cause the tip of your pole got hit.

Because if they didn't this game would be absolutely miserable to play, it creates some silly moments like the one in this video but not being able to whiff punish characters like Percival would break this game

@@magatsuvale They don't have to be full disjoints, though. Even regular characters in street fighter, a more footsie game based game like Granblue, have a bit of an extension in their hitbox so it doesn't overlap with the hurtbox. Here the hurtbox and the hitbox seem to be synced to perfection, which is why it's so bizarre getting punished when just the tip gets hit, and diminished a little the spacing game and rewards a lot more the passive punish game. Again, it's not a deal breaker by any means, Granblue is still one of my fav fighting games; it just is always a doozy seeing yourself hit from 5 meters away when spears or whips are meant to be used to be safe at 5 meters away, lol.
