Jacob S Yeah. I've had my account for about as long but if I hadn't used most of my dust for required epics/rares and such I'd probably have quit the game out of frustration. Especially since the only pack legends I've gotten have been Noz, Geddon, and Cho.

I think the epics and rares are more important in most games. Sure some decks require some legendarys, but most of them work pretty well without the legendary but heavly rely on some epics and rare.

I doubt it since they will have to adapt other cards to avoid broken combos. The only card now that changes your max hp is Jaraxxus, you sacrifice 15maxhp and `gain` hero power that generates a Ftone of value while reducing yourself permanently to combo range of things like 2xfireball frostbolt or 2x skill command quickshot hero power which balances out the fact that you have a weapon and valuetown HP. If they were to do the opposite and increase your max health, what would be the trade off? Would you lose your hero power to gain x max health? Would you discard your hand? Or make a class specific card for class that can't really heal well like rogue to allow it more control-ish playstyle (will be able to facetank more damage with weapons). Maybe a card that will push a tribe into play? My suggestion would be a 6mana spell ``Gain 10 health if you control 2 or more pirates.`` This way you can prep it on turn 3 if you previously kept your 1 and 2 drop alive. Idk just a suggestion

I've never quite understood why Blizzard has such an issue printing new healing cards (Earthen Ring Farseer from Classic being an example of a heal card done right). I get that they've said they actually *do* want Aggro to stick around as an option, but at this point I think most would agree that the game is so heavily slanted towards Aggro, giving more efficient heals wouldn't kill Aggro, just stop its overwhelming pervasiveness.

5 for 4/5 with 5 heal anywhere, so trading 1/1 for a 5 anywhere heal, that's reasonable yeah. Problem is, it's a class only card, and the class it's in is Priest, probably the class that needs it the least. I think it would have still been reasonable as a Neutral card honestly.

Theres also another factor in play here. This kind of healing is suited to a control game, where you can set huge clears and then this is your follow up. Control decks are light on the minions (in general) and in particular in the early game, but the C´thun buff cards are all minions, and inneficient minions at that (bar the divine shield one, maybe). That kind of gameplay is best suited to midrange strategies so C´thun is a midrange type of deck in general. This card requires a more refined deckbuilding, still centered on C´thun but C´thun not being the primary focus of the deck (like in druid). Imo, C´thun priest should use C´thun as support tool for the general strategy of outlasting the opponent, again drawing the parallel with druid in wich case plan a, b and c is making a huge C´thun

Darkmender won me a game once, literally, I swear. I was a face warrior up against a priest and I think my opponent forgot he had an Auchenai Shadowpriest on the table and exactly 10 health left, he suicided with the Darkmender

i've actually tried some version of c'thun priest (being a priest fanatic) but i've realized that the darkmander usually does not get to heal for 10 but less, although when it does heal for 10 you are usually so behind that those 10 point are nothing if you don't clear. all of this not counting the worst scenario when you can't actually heal because your c'thun has less than 10 attack (in some list may be rare but it can happen). it's almost better to play it for tempo some times, given the fact that c'thun lists can play on curve pretty easily.

I saw this card played earlier today lol. I don't get why you didn't bring up Darkshire Alchemist? 5 mana 4/5 heal for 5 to any character with no requirement. That card is better in my opinion, and it combos with Auchenai Soulpriest.

I use her in my control deck. Darkmender + Brann is almost as good as a Reno. My deck focuses on healing to buff C'Thun and keep my HP topped off and AoE to control the board/give me things to heal. Though I will agree that it can be a very tough deck to win with but it's a lot of fun when it works. Right now since the meta is very aggro it's been working like crazy.

I dont know but when he started to talk about this "30 health issue" I just thought of some perk for certain chars, go with me ok? What about this: Priest starts with 30 but can go above a certain amount Mage can have 11 mana Warrior starts with x (xx) armor hunter x warlock can have 8 minions rogue can add +1 duration on HP weapon (and if the weapon have 2 or more att, lesser it's attack by 1) I dont say it is necessarily balanced but it is kinda interesting, atleast for me.

I think the problem with the card is this: Healing is only really good against aggro on around turn 8-10 preferably after clearing the board. To activate this card by then you need to mulligan for C'Thun buffers. But you would rather mulligan for board clears and other answers to early minons. That makes it awkward. Healing is also good against combos under 30 damage, but as a priest you will be full health against those decks anyway.

I feel like priest should get some kind of overheal effect on hero to keep up with armor mechanic. Just make overhealing on hero "absorb armor bubble thing" like discipline priest used to do, and sudenly control priest would slam into meta. he's talking about mid-game cost effectiveness because a lot of the time aggro decks make you need to heal up around 5 mana turns, rag is 8 mana and reno is okay stats for 6 but with a specific deck prerequisite. healing wave is good but it's also luck and you don't get any board control or presence so while it doesn't instantly heal the most it does the most with overall better efficiency

I made it into Rank 5 with a Cthun Priest and I am really happy about it, since that deck isnt top tier. Its awesome how you can heal up 20hp using Brann, and completely rekt your aggro enemy.

The problem with the 20hp heal is that even though it heals you for 2/3 of your health it requires you to be at 1/3 or less in the first place. However it is not too uncommon that decks are able to deal more than 10 damage in one turn meaning that you have to heal earlier with it, losing out on a mentionable amount of health.

Blizzard needs to make a Priest legendary which increases the maximum health of your hero (by 10 or maybe 20 health). It would help against fatigue massively and pull the priest out of OTK range in most cases. It would also not be OP against aggro as the health boost would not be immediate and due to the high mana cost. On top of this, the card easily fits into the Priest class anyway. This just has to be done!

You know what'd be a cool way too make healing more relevant? Let players discover whether they wanna heal now, the next turn or the turn after the next one, with the enemy knowing when it will happen. A bit of a complicated mechanic to implement but a really interesting one.

why did kripp get a c'thun when his hasn't died yet? is it because he took the caller from the enemy when it dies so it counts?

He stole his enemy's C'thun, so when that C'thun died, it counted as Kripp's minion. Then doom caller couldn't raise C'thun for his opponent, because the opponent hadn't had a C'thun die on his side of the board. Kripp had had a C'thun die, so the entombed doom caller raised his opponent's dead C'thun.

The card ain't too shabby, compare it to like Guardian of Kings, 7 mana for a 5/6 body and only heals for 6. Granted you don't need the extra requirement to have something and some level, but if you're playing a C'Thun heavy deck boosting it to 10 is simply a matter of playing 2 cards in most cases.

With a similar deck I was struggling around rank 10. I switched to a dragon priest and I effortlessly got rank 3 within 2 days. Just shows how weak this deck really is, no matter how cool a 20 heal with darkmender+brann may look

I think if blizzard want a slower more control deck based game they should just bite the bullet and double the max life and allow decks to have 10 more cards. Because in most of the games on ladder now the games decided before turn 10. The other option would be to have taunt also block spells or do like magic does and let all cards block.

It's pretty alright. The faerie dragon effect with it's 9 health make it very hard to remove for any class and the 5 attack is usually good enough to trade very well, but it's hard to fit it into any of the competitive control decks.

Brann, embrace the shadows, darkmender and two flash heals. Get an emperor tharrisean deduction on just two of those. 10 mana 30 damage. You would probably play this in a prophet velen deck as well so it would give you more survivability and alternates for your combo.

No, the best heal card in the game is Ancient Shieldbearer. Unlike Darkmender, it can overheal, so it's effect is always relevant, even moreso when you also have Brann, and armor isn't affected by Alexstrasza. Also, since Auchenai is super important for basically every priest deck out there, it can sometimes lead to an awkward situation where you have to trade your Auchenai first before playing Darkmender.

They got the best Aoe's with Cirle combo or Excavated Evil, have strong removals in Shadow Word's and Entomb, can transform their survival tools into burst and huge board control. So yeah they've lost ligthbomb. But that card was also way to overpowerd compared to the other Aoe's in HS.

Y'know, Kripp, talking about how armour is better than life because 30 life really isn't enough got me to wondering whether you've ever played Star Crusade, a Russian-made sci-fi rip-off of Hearthstone. One of the (initially) VERY few differences between SC and HS was that your deck isn't fixed at 30 cards, instead allowing you to have between 25 and 40 cards in your deck. Big deal, I hear you say, why would you run ANYTHING other than a 25-card deck then? Because your deck is is also your _starting/maximum life total._ Aggro is a lot less prevalent when it can have to chew through up to 40 life rather than 30 (although practically speaking the upper limit for competitive decks is around 35) and running a really tight, condensed aggressive deck can leave you dangerously vulnerable, especially if you use one of the popular passive Modules (customisable hero powers of which each player can equip up to 3) that reduces your life total in exchange. Star Crusade really is fascinating to a Hearthstone player simply as an study of how basically the same game can evolve a completely different meta because of the minor differences between them (for example, while a lot of the starting Modules are directly equivalent to those of Hearthstone heroes e.g Thrash is Fireblast, there's nothing like Life Tap, so zoolock isn't a thing that can exist).

One of the few times I dissagree, this card is busted. If I play vs c'thun priest I have to deal more then 50 damage to exually kill the priest and when you're not playing a controle deck you either get a crazy start and win early or slowly run dry on damage and lose.

they will both be out. each year, all the expansions that came out 2 years ago are removed. a whole years worth is removed at the same time. League came out in the same year as blackrock

Could be a different mechanic: imagine Overhealing healing the amount overhealed for the next times you take damage. You overheal for 4, take three damage afterwards (27 life) and you go back to 30 at the start of your turn. Take another three damage after that (27 life again) and you'd heal to 28 at the start.

Or a priest spell that increases your hero's max health (not healing the amount it increases though) by a small amount (5-ish?) so you can heal up to 40 health with two of them. Would make it easier to get full value of heal cards when playing them for tempo. Also could make majordomo semi-playable in priest if you save the spells for the combo

It wouldn't work. You need to dedicate a lot of cards to make a functioning C'thun deck.

You would need to get cthun for them to work. And if you don't get cthun well then the worthless cthun cards are only taking a place as one of the 3 options you get.

Actually, lots of them. Cult Sorcerer - 2 mana 3/2 with Spell Damage +1, amazing for Mage Hooded Acolyte - 4 mana 3/6, great stats for the Arena, same goes for the Usher of Souls and many more C'Thun cards Blade of C'Thun - 9 mana Assasinate+Summon a 4/4 in one card Twilight Geomancer - do you remember Kripp's video where he said that cards like Silverback Patriarch are okay-ish in Arena? That is the improved version of it. There is no denying that some C'Thun related cards, such as Ancient Shieldbearer or Twin Emp are pretty bad without the Old God himself, but many C'Thun cards are quite good in the arena, even without the 'buffing' part.

We will probably have some sort of adventure expansion this Autumn, and then, presumably in the Spring 2017, with the release of new full expansion, BRM and LOE will rotate out of standard. you can't armour up opponents for bm so healing is better

Kripp. You missed the point that Armour will ALWAYS 'heal' you for the full cost...... Twilight Darkmender may only heal you for 5 or 1 or maybe even nothing if you are full health. You also did not mention that Warrior has HUGE synergy with Armour i.e. Shield Slam.

Which for 1 Mana can kill any minion (bar stealth/bubble) if you have the armour. There is no priest card that comes even close to that... so ye, HUGE synergy :)

Exactly, Shield Slam (and Execute) are extreme value. I personally would cost them at 3 mana each, and even then they would see play (maybe you would only run 1 of each)
