Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge what a class act. I remember buying my first LP fifty years ago of The Silver Tongued Devil and I was hooked. I’m now 80 years of age and when I listen to Kris I’m back in my 30’s again. I have had the privilege of seeing him live a few times over here in Ireland and the ovation he got was unbelievable. Kris touches something in my soul with his not quite perfect voice and he brings the emotion out in his love songs probably all written from his life experiences and thats what I love about Kris 💚 God Bless him.🧤👏
@margaretschaffner9133 Жыл бұрын
Class act she bitched all the time about her lovers .. even Leon Russell ... KK couldn't sing for shit, but "back then" we didn't have as much over whelming talent vocal wise. He wrote life sh*t, what musician doesn't. Spoiled careers all around. Loved growing up in the 70's I personally don't need to know their personal crap. I bought records. Imagine you telling your personal story behind however you make money? I'm so bored with all this embellishing poor rock star diatribe.

awesome!! Mind-blowing! 😍💓 🎸⭐💐🌹 👍Busted flat in Baton Rouge, headin' for the trains, Feelin' nearly faded as my jeans. Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained, Took us all the way to New Orleans. Took my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana And was blowin' sad while Bobby sang the blues, With them windshield wipers slappin' time and Bobby clappin' hands we finally sang up every song That driver knew. Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose, And nothin' ain't worth nothin' but it's free, Feelin' good was easy, Lord, when Bobby sang the blues, And buddy, that was good enough for me, Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee. From the coalmines of Kentucky to the California sun, Bobby shared the secrets of my soul, Standin' right beside me through everythin' I done, And every night she kept me from the cold. Then somewhere near Salinas, Lord, I let her slip away, She was lookin' for the love I hope she'll find, Well I'd trade all my tomorrows for a single yesterday, Holdin' Bobby's body close to mine. Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose, And nothin' left was all she left to me, Feelin' good was easy, Lord, when Bobby sang the blues, And buddy, that was good enough for me. Good enough for me and Bobby McGee.

His voice really changed within a year. There's a duet on YT from 1973, and his voice is pristine. Here, his voice is gravelly. He's also obviously under the influence, which doesn't help. Her voice - 100%. You watch her eyes here. She's in love, but concerned.

Not so sure....I think Rita looks a bit uncomfortable and Kris trying to out do her...louder etc. I don't think the performance looks like one between equal lovers to be honest....it's too edgy. Just imho of course.

the loud voice you hear when Kris and Rita are together at the mice for the refrain is a background singer, it's not Kris's voice.
@bradgrady17523 жыл бұрын
This was early in their joint careers. The more albums they made together, THE BETTER their Harmonizing. I STILL LOVE THEM. Years, Later at their Farm Aid performance , you could sense they still had the Chemistry that they had established over the years together, before Their Split Up.
