Another great value piano, the Roland FP30X is also quite the remarkable brand when it comes to creating these sorts of electronic and conventional, or acoustic instruments. I feel as though it’s more of a preference but I have owned a Yamaha P-125b since almost a year now, and no issues can be notably reported. (Although some of the keys may start to get “clunky” as you are giving them more intense use. It is something common so I will link a video on how to fix that for Yamaha models P-45 all the way up to P-125). The Roland FP30X is another great choice and is on par with the Yamaha P-125 if not even a little bit better because whilst Yamaha gives you that 7 Watt output per speaker on the P-125 model, the Roland FP30X gives you more warmth on the lower side of the keyboard while still sounding clean and crisp, not more sharp than Yamaha’s digital pianos but, consistent and crisp at least in my opinion, it’s all preference based. And to be quite frank it’s your choice because whichever you prefer, they are both behemoths of their own leagues!!! : m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaHTp5p-m8aVlas&pp=ygUlSG93IHRvIGZpeCBjbHVua3kga2V5cyBvbiBZYW1haGEgUDEyNQ%3D%3D

Also I forgot to mention: Rolan FP30X’s speaker output wattage is of 22 Watts so that means you get 11 watts per speaker, Yamaha however gives you that more immersive sound but Yamaha does it better with their speaker that are directly facing you.

The P125 has great value. Not much variety of sounds, but the few sounds that it has are top-notch and better than similar sounds on the Roland RD-88. You can layer sounds to achieve more variety of sounds. For example, layer a piano sound with the string sounds and hold down the sustain pedal, then it works perfectly for a song like "Head Over Hells" by Tears for Fears or "So in Love" by OMD. Or layer the DX7 sound with a string sound with lots of sustain then it sounds well for "West End Girls" by Pet Shop Boys.

Hook it up on your pc/mac and use piano libraries/vsts. They sound way better and more realistic and the choices are vast. They're a bit costly though.

How do you transpose on the P 125? please answer. Thanks
@aBachwardsfellow3 жыл бұрын
- press and hold BOTH the METRONOME and RHYTHM buttons. While holding, press one of the 6 (chromatic) keys on either side of middle C to transpose to the corresponding key. For example, pressing the G below middle C will transpose to the key of G, pressing the E above middle C will transpose to the key of E. Press middle C (while holding the 2 buttons) to restore to un-transposed pitch. See p. 17 of the user manual - here: tw.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/5/1204365/p125_p121_en_om_a0.pdf

I know I’m a bit late but just a quick question do you think if someone were to learn to play on it he would be able to play on a grand piano easily?
@aBachwardsfellow3 жыл бұрын
If you practice on the P125 using the correct technic your playing will reasonably transfer to an acoustic instrument. Every acoustic instrument is different and requires some adjustment on your part to get used to - this is normal. As a classically-trained pianist, I find that I can adjust the touch and volume settings on the P125 to get a quite satisfactory touch response both for practice and performance. For practice I prefer a "heavier" touch, so I set the touch to hard, and lower the volume so that I can play quite firmly to get the desired response. Practicing this way makes the transition to acoustic instruments such as grand piano practically seamless - as if I had been practicing on the acoustic instrument all along. Hope that helps -
@aBachwardsfellow3 жыл бұрын
@@beatingbits I'm interested to know what your old piano was - acoustic or digital? Because of the short key length the P125 action is heavier the further in on the keys you play. So if your Chopin pieces have sharps and flats - which of course is most likely - then you will notice an added heaviness as you move in on the keys. I actually prefer the heavier action for practice as it builds up finger strength. But if you are trying to play leggiero you may need to adjust your technic slightly. This is a common issue for pianists when playing on different acoustic instruments - some adjustments in technic are often needed. Try setting the P125 touch to soft or medium, and adjust the volume knob to find the best response range. You may also try the 4th P125 piano voice as it is a somewhat lighter instrument. Hope that helps.
