For a smaller budget the IXO is alright. If you want to have more and better detail than you've to pay the extra money on the Spark. So at the end it depends on what kind of collector you are ... like you mentioned at the end about how many IXO models you could get for the price of the Spark model.

Hey I was hoping u could help me out a bit , I have the opportunity to pick up a minichamps McLaren f1 gtr or a UT models mclaren f1 gtr. He wants $300 for the minicchamps and $200 for the UT model , this is in canada. Both are still in box. Was wondering if u could give me some info on which would probably be higher quality , thank you

I would go for the minichamps because I have the UT Model one and I don't like it. The minichamps has more precise details.

If you look closely, you'll see that the mirrors on the IXO are different from the Spark... I've just noticed! 🧐

The shape of the grille is also different. And I think there might be some subtle differences in shape. Presumably spark will be more accurate. Accurate proportion is the most important thing to me, even above detail level. I only buy 1-43 scale, but I always prefer spark over ixo as a general rule, even at the extra cost. I recently got a Saleen S7-R by spark, & I already had an IXO but never thought the shape was quite right. The spark nailed it there, & so is much more beautiful. But if you're not an expert, the IXO stands up pretty well, & is well detailed. It depends on the specific car and model, sometimes better model makers do have a miss, or cheaper makers a hit.

The IXO model is pretty much an accurate model when given a glance (or even a few minutes). The Spark model exudes accuracy and detail when looked upon intimately. The IXO is a filler to a cabinet full of other models where this specific example is not a very important piece in the shelf (or if the collector deems they are treated the same way; a non-favorite). The Spark model has the confidence to stand alone in a jury of two sharp eyes from a connoisseur in this hobby. The Spark model is produced in much limited numbers too. The IXO model is still readily available online, such as EBay and hasn't increased much in value since its release. If they stay there any further, we might see the IXO models get a discount as sellers need to make room for new inventory. My 2-cents.
