you can be pro-choice and see abortion as not the solution, pro-life ppl think abortion is the solution to the problem while it's not, it's ending lives of both the fetuses and the females in general. there are better ways to this issue, but for sure its not banning abortion

I was 16 when I got pregnant. My mom offered me a brand new corvette to have an abortion. My son just turned 29. When I turned 29, I found out I had cervical & uterine cancer and had to have a hysterectomy. Had I had that abortion at my mother’s request I would be childless for life. There is not a hypothetical situation you could tell me where I would have aborted him. I struggled, I worked two jobs at a time. We didn’t have a lot but we made it. Talking to my son recently now as an adult how he viewed his childhood and he said he was very happy with everything I did to take care of him and how now he realized how hard I worked to make sure he had everything he wanted and needed. I completed college also without any issues of being a mother. If you don’t want to get pregnant for whatever reason, then be an adult and make sure your protected. With the amount of diseases out there you can’t raw dog the whole campus and think you’ll walk away without catching something. Take pride in yourself & know that you & your body are worth something.

I don’t know you, but I’m proud of you…You are inspirational. It looks like you were more mature than your mother. Many people who decide to have an abortion have no clue how the abortion is performed. It is a butchery. If they knew, many of them would think twice… Young people should be more educated on topic of abortion. I wonder how your mother feels right now when looking at her grandson knowing she wanted him to be aborted? Does your son know that his grandma wanted you to abort him?

It's not about when "life" begins dear, A human spermatozoa is ALIVE its a unicellular human *life form* that contains a complete and UNIQUE human genome. Does this therefore mean that using a condom is an act of GENOCIDE ? I do not see her demanding 🖐 jobs are criminalised or describing wet dreams as a atrocities. 🤣 Everything you eat was once "life" does that mean that one should not eat ?? Of course not. If you have your appendix taken out or a biopsy are you murdering that clump of living human cells ?? The real question is when does this "life" become conscious, feel pain ect and become a "human" this most certainly does NOT occur at conception. At what specific point in the process does the zygote become sentient without neurons or a brain ? Can you define it down to the individual stages of mitosis prophase prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, or telophase???? How may cells does it require for you to be able to diferentiate this blastocyte from a human "life" ? Perhaps its when the chorion develops around the blastocyte or when the inner ones become the amnion?? Or maybe when this becomes an embryo and we begin to see the beginnings of the internal organs ?? Or later when we first see the neural tube that will EVENTUALLY become the brain and the spinal column even though they do not become fully developed until the end of the pregnancy ???? How many specific neurons does this brain need before it attains consciousness in your subjective opinion?? Does it only class as life at 24 weeks when it becomes viable outside the uterus ?? Ect ect ect These are difficult questions don't get me wrong. But one thing is for certain, the percieved whims of anyone's subjective imaginary "God" are irrelevant to the discourse.

I mean, do we really want to get into why most black women are getting abortions? Not to diss black men, but mllost black fathers, including my own are either incarcerated (my dad) or go out to get the milk. Additionally, there is a lot of poverty within our communities, and most of the new generation of black women do not want to repeat the cycle of popping out kids while being poor/low-income. I'm not going to lie, if I didn't have my family to support me as well as the child's father (who happens to be white), I probably would've gotten an abortion too. @@and__lam1152 The very nature of a "right" is that nobody needs to justify, to you or anyone else, their reasons for exercising those rights. Their "motivation" for exercising their right is not the source of that right, nor is it the justification of that right. That you characterize the motives of a woman who does not want another person accessing her internal organs any longer as "inconvenience" or “irresponsible” is no more germane than if you characterized the motives of an enslaved person who does not want to be enslaved as "laziness" for not wanting to work so hard for his master. His right to be free doesn't depend on your approval of his "motives" for wanting to be free. Moreover; her right to say no to continuing a pregnancy isn’t contingent upon your, nor anyone else’s assessment how “irresponsible” she was for engaging in the satisfaction of her basic human need for sexual intimacy; a woman's right to reject another's access to her internal organs doesn't depend on your approval of her "motives" for not wanting to grant that access.

When my girlfriend got pregnant she was 17 year old, it was a mistake, but we believed that making a bigger mistake wasn’t the solution to fixing the first one. We decided to trust in God and go along with the pregnancy. It was very hard, we didn’t have support of our families on this, but we did have the support of unexpected and awesome people. 7 years later, we are now married, with 4 children and a house, having kids was for us a challenge but also a blessing and a path of personal growth. If we had killed that first child, i dont know where i would be right now, but i know i wouldn’t be as far as i am now, because struggling is how we grow as a human being and i feel like abortion is the easy way out of a challenge we are too scared to take on…

I was pro-choice all my life, up until I had my own child aged 27. My child was unplanned, and came at a time where I was having a lot of fun, I was newly single and out of an abusive relationship, feeling free and just generally enjoying my life. He was also the result of a one night stand. I was not ready, nor did I even want a child. So abortion was very much on the cards for a few weeks due to this "inconvenience" that had just presented itself in my life. My mother played a huge role in ensuring I did not have an abortion, and I count my blessings each day that she convinced me to keep him, because I cannot imagine life without him! I most certainly could have aborted him and had a child later on when I was ready, but it would not have heen HIM. It would have been somebody completely different. And the thought of that just scares the crap out of me. Had I decided to abort, I would have been robbed of my son, my love, my light, my best friend. These people just dont understand what it means to be human. We are all the same, but we are all so different as well. We all have our own sets of genetic make up that make us who we are, and to rob ourselves of birthing someone that we created and shares a part of that genetic make up, is just sad. I hope these girls wake up to themselves one day just like I did, because I am most certainly pro-life now and woupd not have it any other way.

Good for you! It sounds like you’re as madly in love with your son as you could be. Thank you for making the righteous choice. May God richly bless you both! And you are exactly right! Killing one’s own baby in the womb is a bit of like road rage-although the analogy breaks down pretty quickly as one is far more serious and irreversible than the other (killing innocent people and being an a-hole on the freeway are very different things). It’s pretty easy to flip off a random person who cuts you off on the freeway. As long as they remain anonymous, we can vilify them without taking their humanity into account, but the minute we realize we just flipped off our child’s second grade teacher and she saw who made the vulgar gesture AT her, we are ashamed and embarrassed (if we’re honest). Why? Because to recognize someone’s humanity is to come face to face with their inherent right to dignity and their right not to be murdered. The only reason anyone is okay with with abortion is that they haven’t seen the baby’s face or made eye contact with their beautiful eyes: the window to their soul.

Also, I have heard of a weekend intensive for healing the hearts of women who have had an abortion and regret it called Rachel's Vineyard I believe. I feel the same. I was pro choice for most of my life. I was "inconvenienced" by a pregnancy. Now, years later I have a beautiful 3 year old son and I realize the atrocity that I caused. I pray every day that I can be forgiven. It scares me. I feel like the least I can do now is be outwardly pro life. I understand that not all pregnancies are caused by a "mistake" a woman made. There are exclusions such as rape, but it's still murder. I don't like saying a 12 year old should have a baby, but regardless of age a baby is still a baby. A lot of these girls are following these beliefs because it's the popular stance and I hope they find their way one day.

The woman who was asking if the men would get a vasectomy, was she equating that to abortion? You know a good way for a man to avoid an unwanted pregnancy? Abstain until you're ready to have a child. Or, are men and women incapable of controlling their urges? If you don't want to put on weight, you control your urge to eat irresponsibly. Same thing with sex. And, eating is more necessary than sex.

She was PERFECTLY HEALTHY! There was nothing wrong with her. It's not the age that scares women to be mothers, it's how ready they are mostly whether or not they have a partner who wants the baby too and supports them. I was 24 when I got pregnant, but the baby was so wanted and my partner was so supportive, I knew there would be nothing I couldn't handle.

Not everybody can handle this just because you could. Your specific experience does not mean that all women with unplanned pregnancies should be mothers just because they “could” do it.

@@Alina-hl9bgYou’re still killing an innocent child who would have grown up to be a human with a chance at a life and happiness before they even get to experience anything in this world other than their mother’s womb. You can try to make yourself feel better about it, and argue not everyone can just because the op could, but that’s still taking the easy way out, and you have blood on your hands. I guarantee many people who have killed humans with abortions could’ve gave them a chance at life if they rlly wanted to, they just took the easy way out. What about adoption? Yeah ik the foster care system has problems but isn’t it better to be alive with problems than dead before you even have a chance to experience life?

@@Alina-hl9bg the way I see it, is that it is a fact, all children are precious and a blessing. And whatever the circumstance is (I know that is a controversial statement.) it is not the child’s fault and deserves to have a chance to live. Children are a gift. An inheritance. And often times, I honestly don’t know how this became, but we put animals ahead of children. It has been ruled inhumane to abort dogs, cats, so on, but why don’t we treat our own species as such? The life of our own, is not taken serious. And that is the biggest tragedy.

I remember my sister being sad when she got pregnant, but now my nephew makes everyone happy in my family. My point is, if these students are really that smart, why doing it in the first place when you already know the consequences? Abortion only allows this generation to be lazy and irresponsible. What if that child isn't too bad at all? What if that child is the happiness you've been searching for? What if that child can make you a better person?

Last year when I was pregnant with my son, I felt him kick and play. He interacted with my hands and danced to his father's voice. I told my husband that we had the wiggliest little boy and that he loved being sung to and I knew he would one day be quite the talker. This was as early as 10 weeks. I knew he was a little boy with this playful personality LONG before I held him in my arms or saw him wiggle around in an ultrasound. Sure enough, I was right. I gave birth to a boy who loves to talk, listen to his father sing and who wiggles and bounces 24/7. I knew because he had his personality before I knew I was pregnant. He played and wiggled before I felt him. I knew because he kicked back when I poked my belly, he wiggled to us talking and pressed his ear against my belly when his father sang. I felt all of it. He was always my son and not once was he just "a clump of cells." He was planned but I was only 21 and everyone thought my husband and I were crazy for not, "enjoying our youth." And how we will be miserable for the rest of our lives because children are just a burden. I disagree. Now, I get to enjoy seeing my son laugh for the first time or when he first pulled up a handful of grass and ate it. I get to see him discover snow and I will learn to enjoy running in the cold again to come in and enjoy some hot cocoa. I get to see him say "dada" for the first time and the joy on my husband's face when he comes home to see his son. My son has enriched and blessed everyone's life around him. Children are a blessing. They are the most beautiful thing to bring into this world. I'm blessed to be a women and have the gift to birth life. I hope these men and women realize this one day.

@@auroraottaviano9664 And that's your anecdotal. There are many women, including aunts and cousins in my family, who have had their kids and still were successful at pursuing their careers. I can't say what they felt, putting in their hours after having kids, alongside this wrecked body you speak of, but they sure as hell made it look easy. They're strong, they're fierce, intelligent, prosperous, and the most generous women this world will ever know... and they made both things happen. Now, is there a strong percentage of women who give up? Possibly, but there are ALSO women who are very determined and don't know what "drop out" even means. And a lot of those women have zero regrets about the families they've created.
