When I was 15 I did something similar. Guy at the store told me to pick a different iguana bc it was gonna die. I told him if he was gonna die he will die loved and with a full belly. Spent literally my entire summer work money on him. Gave him vitamin calcium shots and cared. Lived for 12 yrs. put me through a lot but we were bonded. Loved him with and never regretted the expenses and rescue. Thanks for doing this.

Similar experience. Picked up my ball python and asked the (now previous) owners what feeding was like. They said they buy a small/medium rat and just.... Drop it in the already too small tank. Live. A 20 gallon tank for a 4 and a half food snake, one hide, and a medium LIVE rat. And if the snake didn't eat it? They fucking left it in there. Up to a MONTH. I'm so lucky he wasn't injured, but now he's an incredibly picky eater. Terrified of any food moving. I got live twice, he didn't eat them and hid, so I sold them to my sister as pets. Got frozen and wiggled it, he hid again. Left it sitting on one of his hides and he approached it for a while, then lost interest and hid. But there's no way in hell I'm doing their method and just leaving a live rat in with my boy. I'd rather force feed than risk his life like that.

Dragon as someone with a 12yo, epileptic and blind chow chow cross.... I feel this. But every time we go to the vet, he always comments how good her condition is. When I last asked about end of life expenses, he waved me off and basically said that he doesn’t think that talk is necessary yet. He told me he expects to see her for a few more years. She’s a retired service dog and she is my baby. He and I have discussed the amount it will cost but he isn’t concerned about her health. He said she’s his most active senior patient! He’s getting my new service dog as a patient in August when the candidate comes home.

1 cup of Sea salt warm tap water to soften the dry flakey skin. Soak clothes for 30 to 45 minutes maybe and hour in washer with hot water or soak clothes in 4 gallons hot boiled water in deep bowl mixed in with a half a cup or 1 cup Dawn dishes soap and 4 cups of idolize salt or 4 cups Sea salt.

As an iguana owner, this absolutely breaks my heart. My iguana was treated very poorly before I got her. When she was a baby, they broke her arm, cut her tail, and only fed her lettuce. I've had her for 4 years now and she is doing amazing. She was so happy and she cuddles with me every night. She loves to explore and climb and even though her arm never healed right, she doesnt let it stop her. I rescued her but she has helped me through so much shit in high school. Im so very happy Saylor found amazing house with an amazing owner. She's gonna grow to be so happy and I cant wait for an update ❤

dude when I was like 6 I got a bearded dragon. He was a baby. He grew up with no metabolic bone disease and was cared for a lot. He died of unknown causes but my mom believes that the fireworks here stressed him out bad enough to kill him. I have gotten another since then and he's just the same. I used to treat few snakes I would take in on rescue for mites with Olive or cooking oil, you spread that all over their skin and it grabs the mites and kills them allowing them not to breath. So the ones buried under the scales will come up not being able to get air and get stuck. Leave that one for a few hours and then wash them, let them soak. I would do that a few times and be mite free within a week. I would also clean their enclosures with it as well to snag all the smaller mites too. Not sure if that would help since I would imagine its all take care of by this point but just a some friendly suggestions.

When I was a kid I would catch alligator lizards and keep them as pets temporarily. They always had mites and we would soak them in the bath with iodine. Idk if ppl still use that, it was back in the 90's but it worked really good as well.

When you got emotional at the bath tub. My heart broke. It reminded me of how I received my leopard gecko Topaz. The girl had bred him from two random ones her sister got off craigslist....he was in a shoe size box as a year old adult and weighed only 26g. Now he is up to weight. Eats like a champ and loves to cuddle under a blanket. Everything negative she said about him was wrong and was the result of neglect. She admitted she only fed him when she thought about when she handed him over and told him out loud " I hope she remembers to feed you better than I did". I already had 2 geckos and he changed my life as the third. I hope she slowly recovers and thanks for being his saving grace!

In elementary school, I got a guinea pig (I know very different stay with me lol). I was young, my parents were not that experienced with pets, we were not great owners. We took care of him, he lived a long time, but we weren't great. I always feel so so so bad for him because I feel like we should have done better. Now I'm in high school and we've fostered and adopted dogs but I always look back at that experience. These videos make me feel a little better. At least we took care of him enough for him to eat different greens and fruits everyday and avoid getting bugs or any sicknesses. I hope she gets better and I'm so happy you are there to help her out. :)

I am not a fan of reptiles, I’m scared of snakes and as a whole they kinda make me uncomfortable yet I know heat is important, proper diet and shedding is essential. She is lucky to be alive and lucky to have found her.

I've never owned a reptile but everytime I go into petco or pets art the iguanas always catch my eye, there was a 4 year old male I saw and he looked soooo thin, he looked sad, his eyes were so expressive. I wanted to save him but I had no means of doing so. Thank you for helping this sweet girl, they deserve the world

I started crying when you were holding her on the tub. This is sad, how can someone let there animal get like this? Its very obvious something is wrong, and to ignore it and not try to get it help until it could of already been dead. Its disturbing to me. So happy you have her ans she can start to get better now

when i went to petco for a snail it took me almost 10 minutes just to find the one i want because every time i found one it turned out dead. i ended up just getting a snail because it was alive. it was so sad and the employees were just pulling out dead snail after dead snail until they found one that was alive for me

Oh sweet girl, i feel so bad and when you started crying I just got it. I found a cat outside a few months ago that I took in (now he's my pet) and any time I think about him being abandonned I just sob so being around a baby that has obviously been mistreated her whole life would just be devestating. I feel so happy she is with you now
