OMG I have been wondering the name of this joint for YEARS now and this video randomly popped up on my recommended feed lol. Thank you!!

The algorithm sometime gives us gold :) Finding the correct word/search term for an object or mechanism can be frustating.

@@KristianLaholm would you mind poking around McMaster for a PN# for me by chance? I can't seem to find it anywhere under washers or nuts.

@@nickbell3546This typ of joints not being standard i don't think you'll find any on McMaster.

I learned a lot from this, that i did not understand at first. Circles can be use to project lines to other planes (sketches). The angle of the tool path is angled down from the center so that there is no interference from the teeth as they approach the center.

After I made this video the function of using driven dimensions in other sketches was implemented and some of the sketching can be simplified :)

Thanks for this🙂. I just tried this by doing a loft from a triangle profile in to the center but it would need careful consideration of the size of the central hole as it sometimes leaves material close to the centre. To save steps I did find an optimised circular pattern works for the final chamfer 🙂 (identical and adjust fail though).

I hade the same problem with circular pattern, optimized being the only possible compute option.

Good video, just one question, around the 13:13 mark you recalculated the model. I believe you tapped a keyboard key. Which was that?
@KristianLaholm Жыл бұрын
That is the "Compute All" feature, will recalculate the timeline. The keyboard shortcut is CTRL-B (or CMD-B)
