Here is my workflow for averaging splines and making some artsy stuff from that :) If you get stuck ask for help in the comments :)

I’ve been thinking about this type of project but wasn’t sure where to start, thank you!

Excellent. Also excellent tips on selection filters for menu bar. I cannot believe I have not seen or used before, but awesome with the quick and easy access to toggle off and on. I wish could do this kind of wave on curved organic 3-dimensional, curving in several surface/solid with similar method, but I think cannot yet in Fusion 360. Anyhow, great and very useful method you demonstrate. Thanks a lot.

Just discovered your channel and I'm really impressed. This deserves so much more attention. This is a superb source of well explained and concise Fusion 360 advanced knowledge... Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you Sir Kristian. Do you mind explaining the purpose of the replace face at the end? Is it basically to join the surface loft with the solid rectangle?
@partofthecurse4 ай бұрын
for creating all the triangles, you could use a pattern inside the sketch. great workflow!
@KristianLaholm4 ай бұрын
Then i created the video I couldn't get a rectangular pattern to update then moving the spline. With the new possibilities with driven dimensions I could be a nice addition to the workflow.

Awesome technique. Gonna try this to do some wall art on the cnc. Would you be able to do other patterns as ripple or cellular type effects?

I haven't tried but I think similar steps can be used on a "circular" spline, give it a try :)

I've been toying with the idea of modelling a parametric ammonite (the classic fossile) in Fusion. But this far I've only ended up confusioned 😅 Fancy giving it a try? 😃
@KristianLaholm Жыл бұрын
I have some ideas but they are to much work and are not stable. To bad Fusion doesn't have some type of "scale pattern"

@@KristianLaholm Det går ju alltid att fula sig till en lösning, men det är roligare att bygga något mer elegant 😇

This is really cool!! how do you come up with these workflows? lots of thinking, or trial and error...?
@KristianLaholm Жыл бұрын
It starts with a question or I see an interesting shape. If I can see a good starting point I'll give the design a try and sometimes an interesting workflow evolves :) (yes it takes a lot of trial and error)

Great video Kristian! I'm new to this but i followed along and really enjoyed the process! I have a small project coming up in the near future where I would like to make shapes like these but i want it to go around and connect a cube. Do you know how to make a sweep go around objects and not only be on one plane? Thanks in advancem, love from sweden!
@KristianLaholm2 ай бұрын
Thank you. I don't have any good workflow for "wrapping" this pattern. Fusion is not the "best" tool for shapes like that, it's more a mesh modeling thing. You have do som trial and error and get a feel if the time it takes is worth it in Fusion or you should start learning something like Blender.

Great one! Would this work if we try to apply this to a cylinder surface?
@KristianLaholm4 ай бұрын
I think the workflow could be implemented on a circular design but I don't know if Fusion will handle all the curved faces.
@theminimalist6815 Жыл бұрын
Very nice ! How would you apply this shape to a cylinder or a slot base vase ?
@KristianLaholm Жыл бұрын
Thank yo :) Setting it up for a cylinder would take some work, and I don't know if Fusion will tolerate the geometry. So I have no good answer for that now.
@niko34856 ай бұрын
Very useful way to make the wavy wall. Thanks! However I found that if our end goal is to export it to a CNC and make a parametric wall, I found that the lines on the "Z" axe are not 90 degrees. Without a CNC of 5 axes we can't carve it. Anyone solved this?
@chickenlegs_ankles3 ай бұрын
Possible to do this kind of pattern on a vase/cylinder/curved surface?
@KristianLaholm3 ай бұрын
On a cylinder och cone I can think of ways, but on a multi curved surface it gest harder. The Form tool in Fusion is powerful but it's time consuming.

Any hint for if the relief isnt changing after moving the swipes? It only works before i created the patch. When i move a spline, fusion seems to do something because the fan of my laptop is running high, but nohting is happening
@KristianLaholm5 ай бұрын
It works for me. It can be that your computer/Fusion is stuck in re-computing the model. Or you can force a re-compute (CTRL-B) and see if the model gets update then.

Thanks for your great video. I'm trying to select the line in the create "Plane at angle" and it won't allow the selection. Can select the box lines or Origins. Does anyone know why Fusion 360 won't allow this? Thanks
@KristianLaholm11 ай бұрын
Thank you. It you can't select any lines check selection filter/priority. If you can select other lines, did you create the line using the normal line tool or spline? More then that I can only think of save work and restart Fusion cleaning up any cached geometry and try again.
@nathanking248411 ай бұрын
@@KristianLaholm Howdy :) I used the normal line tool. I tried saving and restarting, no change. When I select the line, then open the "plane at angle" it deselects the line
@KristianLaholm11 ай бұрын
@@nathanking2484 It works for me. I did the first sketch and hade no problem selecting the lina and do a Plane at Angle. Then only more thing I can think of doing is starting over with a new design and sketch.
