Sliced black olives are flavor black holes. While yes, I could pick them off pizza, they suck some of the goodness away with them. Love green olives. Especially the ones stuffed w/orange or lemon peel.

Hurray, Costco! I am autistic and don't like shopping, so I get pretty much everything there, freeze half of what I buy, and eat the same stuff forever. Plus they have such a generous returns policy. I go on random weeknights so no samples (boo) but no crowds (worth it!). My only gripe is when they stop carrying things randomly. My samefoods ):

If you’re looking for some samefoods they keep for a long time, I have recommendations for you! The tortilla crusted tilapia has been around for a long time, and is great baked- squeeze a little lime on top when it’s out of the oven. They have individual guacamole things that last a long time and are very consistent too if the smooth texture is ok for you ❤

Try the take and heat/bake dinners from the prepared foods section! You could even spread it out over time, giving yourselves nights off in between, so we can also hear how leftovers heat up and rank 😊 Their Mac and Cheese is a winner, but they also have a “taco night” tray, stuffed peppers, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and more. We often pair those entrees with one of the bagged salads from their produce section and call it dinner on the day we go to Costco.

Kristen, it makes no sense to choose Mediterranean food if you hate olives. Pinwheels needs a strong flavor spreadable cheese like pub cheese. If it's really thick you can nuke it a few seconds or thin it with a little sour cream. The meat should also be be very flavorsome-smoked ham/turkey, salami. I also like spicy brown mustard because it takes very little. If you have a mandolin or mad knife skills, cucumber is less fragile and you can press a lot of moisture out without destroying the structure. Very thin sliced red onion, just a little, more crunch and flavor. That's the key, all components are flavorful rather than relying on a sauce.

I feel like a lot of these you can split into smaller meals (like a weekly meal prep) and change the seasonings so it feels different. Also, like you said, when it's bland kids and peaky eaters would eat. You can always spice up food, but you can't make bland it down.

The way Kristin feels about olives is how I feel about celery. I try to give it a chance every other year or so and in different dishes and unless it's cooked to hell in a soup, I HAAAAAAAATE celery. It's such an overpowering taste to me and it literally pollutes and ruins every dish it's in (aside from the aforementioned). Celery is my nemesis vegetable.

@@bcaye With aging, your perception of taste changes as you get older so it's natural to percieve foods you once hate differently. Plus, food completely can be transformed depending on who cooks it and what dish it's cooked in (how it's cooked). Like shrimp, for example.

Definitely need to do the Costco bakery stuff. I always find their croissants to be surprisingly good. Better than any grocery bakery I've bought from before. The pumpkin pie is a staple and the key lime pie are great, but they are bigger than your head... maybe both of your heads combined, not sure. Bring reinforcements.

The Snow Fox sushi is actually surprisingly good! They have a sushi station at all the King Soopers grocery stores near me and they make the sushi every morning. I’ve only tried a couple but the ones I’ve tried have been really great! They also make dumplings and stuff too.

A good thing about Costco is that your membership card enables you to go to pretty much any Costco in the world. So even if you're let's say Canadian (like me), you can visit the South Korean one or the any American ones just fine. (Maybe check for what payments they accept first though.)

Costco has the best cakes in their bakery. They’re not fancy, but their perfect for a co-worker’s birthday or even potlucks. I’ve even had them at 😊a few baby showers. If you try Sam’s Club one our favorites is the chicken street tacos. It’s a kit, with shredded chicken in yummy sauce, shredded cabbage, shredded cheese, salsa and a really good cream sauce. All you have to really do is heat up the chicken and build your own tacos.
