What a train wreck this interview was. IDK if Kristy goes on KZbin and looks up old videos of herself but I'd love to tell her damn, girl you did a perfect job handling the buffoonery of this so called journalist who clearly doesn't know how to conduct a proper interview.

Probably the best I have ever seen an interviewee handle their intrusive "interrogation" reporter. She handled her with sangfroid and such aplomb. It was truly beautiful. Kristy McNichol one of the greatest, unheralded, and unsung great entertainers and actresses of our lifetime. As you can see by her candor and outspokenness, what happens to a female in Hollywood over time what happens to yoir career for being a beautiful, strong, assertive female. After that movie, all her career aspirations and dreams ( acting, singing) all faded away, because she speaks her mind and was not a sycophant or toady to the media. I mean the only thing significant she did after that was "Empty Nest" which ironically she played a strong, independent, self-sufficient female with a needy, and dependent father. There's been no trace of her after that short-lived series. I am very surprised in 2021 that no one has even attempted to make a Hollywood movie about her life, it just seems like a great epic story, and an important parable about the American Dream and the illusion that a strong female can ultimately overcome all obstacles to be accepted and succeed in the world, the truth is the opposite and the fall and descending career of Kristy is a prime example of this. What a truly remarkable person and one of the all time greatest actresses and singers we have ever witnessed in our lifetime.

She was an amazing actress and is a remarkable person, totally. But there were other factors that made her need to leave the business. She had to hide who she really was -- she had to hide that she was gay. And also the mental health stuff that might have come along regardless, but also might have been exacerbated by being the breadwinner in her house by the age of 12, and having a mother that was more like a child who was pressuring her to repeatedly demand more money....It was a childhood no child deserves. We need to remember, that in her case, at least according to what she has said publicly, she wanted to get out, needed to get out, needed to have a private life, not be in that world anymore.

Kristy was finally in a stable place mentally when she did Empty Nest. She enjoyed it and it was an ensemble cast that she didn’t have the pressure of being the lead. She also didn’t over work herself.

@XxowendanxX Жыл бұрын
@@apollozero it's actually funny to hear her try to dodge stating what she is. It's not that she had to evade that, it's that she didn't want to tell anyone her business. Her private life and who she gets it on with is no one's business. Heterosexual or otherwise, it's no one's business. I've never liked that part of the celebrity worship culture where people need to know who some celebrity is getting it on with. If you interview an actor or a rock star, your questions should address his work, his public life only. If he wants to state who he's doing and it's not in poor taste that's fine but interviewers should not ask those types of personal questions and fans should not act as if they have a right to know.
