I has a crush on Kristy McNichol when I was a teenager 40 years ago. I remember buying those teen magazines like Tigerbeat etc. just to read about her and see her cute pictures. Even though we never met, and I literally never would have had a chance to be with her had we ever met as it turns out. She will always be the first girl that I ever had feelings for. Our stories are almost the exact same..I watched it with my daddy too,so many times that we both knew every song in it. This scene here with her singing..set a dream in my heart thT I have followed too. Funny, this movie didn't get great reviews but it definitely had some influence. It will always be special to me and I miss my dad even more when I watch it now. I'm glad I spent so many Friday nights at home grounded,or I might have missed this favorite

Loved hanging out with my Dad,he was my best friend,and he was also a teacher, so he had the summers off to,and I just remember watching this movie over ,and over Again on HBO,with my Dad and my brother,and I knew all the words to the songs," I need you strong for me" was my favorite,,I hear that song and watch this movie now ,and it makes me so sad,😥because the close bond that kristy mcnichol and dennis quaid in the movie playing brother and sister,was Exactly the same bond that my brother and I had,and my Dad too,but after our dad passed away about 21 years ago,my brother and I have not spoken in over 10 years,😥i dont understand why ,but he pushed me away,after our dad passed away,and its very sad,my dad was both out best friend,and its very sad ,that my brother and don't talk anymore,I miss my dad so much,.I was Daddy's little girl,this movie brings back alot of great memories❤😇the soundtrack is great!🎼🎵🎤🎸🎶i still know all the words To every song that this movie had in it,❤😇God bless you in JESUS❤😇🙏name,

I love this movie. I remember going to see it with my dad when I was around 12 or so, we used to go see movies every week & I wanted to see this one because I was a big fan of Kristy McNichol, I always watched her on TV shows and in movies. Man I was crushing on Dennis Quaid when I saw this film, I watched it whenever it came on HBO after that... loved the music in this movie. Love the song they do together.

I loved this movie so much! I still do. It holds a lot of great memories for me...it ran on cable a lot back in the day..I was a teenager and lived with my dad .. . Every time it came on we watched it I think..lol. until we practically knew the script. We knew and sang all the songs along with the movie . My dad is gone now and so watching this movie and listening to the songs is bittersweet for me. But they are precious memories that I'd never trade

I love this song so much! You can see so much emotion in Kristy's eyes when she sings. I love her acting, she was so natural and real, her acting didn't feel like acting and she could make you feel her emotions. She was one of a kind. there will never be anyone like her. I wish I grew up when Kristy McNichol was still a big star

She was a really great actress. I was 8 years old when this movie came out. I took Psychology 101 in the fall of 1997 and someone in the class did a presentation on bipolar disorder and manic depressive disorder. I remember seeing her name on the illustration poster. I still think that she is a great actress though. She was pretty when she starred with Dennis Quaid in this movie. I don't remember seeing her in any other movies though. My mom and dad taped this movie off of HBO when I was around 9 years old. I think that Dennis Quaid is a terrific actor as well. It was sad that he and Don Stroud died at the end of the movie. This was the first movie that I have seen with Dennis Quaid in it. He is really great. He is definitely one of a kind. He has put out a lot of really great movies
