HELL YEAH DUDE!!!!! Awesome video. I run an 11 tooth sprocket on my 5kW motor with a 40 tooth on the axle and 13 inch tires gets me right up to 50MPH.
@Krisuno5 жыл бұрын
Thankkkkk!! What rpm are you Turing the motor at? With the gearing you have it should do 37mph. I feel like the motor I have should have more power but I’m not 100% sure yet
@ScottBl8ke5 жыл бұрын
@@Krisuno I estimate the motor is turning at 4700 RPM. My battery pack is also slightly overvolting at 54-60 volts, and amp peaks over 120.
@gorillageeks56452 жыл бұрын
That white stuff in your water cooling system, could be calcium or mineral deposit if the motor is heating the the water close to boiling and you are using tap water will build up over time just like your kettle and could end up damaging your motor aswell as radiator and water pump, would recommend using distilled water will reduce dramatically and also use kettle lime scale remover once and a while.

Good stuff once again! Now that the heavy work is done, you gotta have some fun lol but yeah at 50mph brakes have to be very good, be safe out there

Loll The controller has regenerative braking that I haven’t hooked up yet. If that doesn’t help the stopping power then I’m gonna upgrade to the hydraulic brake loll

No idea if you're still reading these comments, but what sprocket size is on the axle? My classmates and I are building an electric go kart for our senior project and have been STRUGGLING to figure out what our top speed could theoretically be with a 5 kW motor.

Great video Krisuno! Just wondering where did you purchase the sprockets from and what chain pitch are you running?.

This is my favorite little electric youtube gokart :D another inspiration for mine but its too fast for the road actually. im hoping for 20 mph but on hills and with heavy rider (me)
@chutzpah39213 жыл бұрын
Hey bud, that is what we did with my daughters electric go kart. We used 2 electric motors that cost about $60 each off Amazon. It can easily launch a 250 pound rider and tops out at 17 mph. The torque is amazing and since we built it to go on or off road it really does not need to be faster. (Gets a little sketchy off road.) Hope your project goes well. Best of luck and have fun!

50mph? What.... off power tool batteries!! It could have gone over 50mph but you really shouldn't, that kart is too top heavy and not wide like a race kart. 50mph in my lowered kart was still sketchy. This stuff is fun but dont get hurt.
@Krisuno5 жыл бұрын
Yup.... it’s really sketchy lmaooo

@@Krisuno Your middle gear is the money gear. See if you can tune the controller for more power on take off
@Krisuno5 жыл бұрын
Yea I haven’t Touch the controller yet, I’m saving that for the video all in itself. And you’re 100% right this is the wrong go kart for this kind of power the wheels are also too small if it accelerates any harder they just break free. Right now it launch is perfectly realistically.
