Supertramp is one of those bands the you never hear about, you sometimes hear it on the radio but you usually don't think much of it. But once you listen to songs like this, you'll understand how truly amazing these songs have. My Dad showed me this band and I loved it instantly, it was the song "School", I'm looking deeper and deeper at this band and the whole world needs to know this band, you can connect to these songs, you can sing to these songs, you can dance to these songs, you will never forget these songs...

It's an amazing band that when you know about it, you really wonder how their music could have fallen out of fashion so much (like many other older stuff) that people nowadays may not know about it at all. So it's funny seeing people saying it's a hidden treasure when this album sold 20 millions copies and was probably huge everywhere. Fortunately, we have so many ways to access all this old but gold music in today's age

Not a cover, rather Cupid’s Chokehold sampled this song (took a portion of it and reused it in a unique way). It would have been a cover if it had just been them singing the same song, but they mainly just reuse a section of the song. Hope this doesn’t sound uptight or anything, just wanted to share the difference 😅
@jeffrowisdabest8 ай бұрын
@@nandi9902 Fair enough. Although I'd counter that by saying it was more of a remake than a sample, since they kept some of the lyrics. As opposed to Madonna's "Hung Up" which contained a sample of ABBA's "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)".

For some reason I thought this was a Streetheart song, I binged all their albums and still couldn't find this. The voice and music style is SO similar to Supertramp's, so I recorded it on the radio first chance I got and put it through a music identifier, and here I am now. It's Supertramp! I love how this song transitions between moods, sounding kinda angry, then getting nostalgic, then back again and so on. I love it when a song's instrumentation matches the lyrics. Like, that drop right when he says "Hoping it's going to come true" is perfect, the song becomes all dreamy right when the lyrics do the same. It kicks ass.

I was in 5th grade back in December 2014 when I first heard this song, and I started loving Supertramp and I still do to this day! This song got me introduced to Supertramp, while I was listening to a 70's and 80's classic rock station on a Friday night.

My dad back in 79 used to be 13.. This was his first ever record bought; he stealed at his father something like 20.000 lire the value of italy at that time (like 10€ nowadays) for buy this record. Well, he (my father) have seen "all the planets of this universe" after my grandfather known that, but it was absolutely worth it!
