The problem with the Gracie's has been arrogance - they still believe striking is unnecessary and pure Jiu Jitsu will win EVEN after Royce got decimated by Hughes, just unreal. Clearly Kron was listening to his father who undoubtedly thinks he could still beat everyone utilising Helio's recipe, and now it seems he is going to do his own thing a bit more, or so I've read, and strike a little, so we'll see.

Just came from the Cub Swanson interview w/ Rampage Jackson. So far a lot of the videos of the Gracie's tells me that family although skilled, are very disliked socially. From discussions I heard from other fighters, they seem to look down to other ppl alot. Cub Swanson mentioned how this guy Kron was arrogant in the US Open BJJ tournament, and how he got his revenge on Kron in the UFC. Sounds like this guy Kron is humbled in this video, hopefully he stays like this.

His dad and family are the problem. Kron needed or needs to train at a camp that realizes all arts have immense value in MMA, namely wrestling and kickboxing. Gracies never, ever like to talk about wrestling, because it's grappling and actually more effective than pure BJJ, when you apply ground and pound. Wrestling is the better base for MMA and that irks the family.

@@KyloRen-j9v And Robert Drysdale's book suggests the reason why Carlos and Helio Gracie's clan sucks at takedowns is because they didn't train that long with Maeda (and likely not at all, except through a student of Maeda), this combined with small academies, lent itself to ground work, which is easier to learn than throwing. The learning curve for throws is way steep in order to be utilized, whereas you can choke someone who doesn't know anything.

To the people saying "why hasn't he been cut from the UFC yet?" The answer: He has fought 3 times in the UFC, 1 win (via rear naked choke) and 2 losses (by unanimous decision). He isn't washed up. Realistically though, he's 36 years old and so I think a loss to Bryce is probably the end of his UFC career.
