Nice. I've had my Krona 3" turboback exhaust on my 06 9-5 for over 5.5 years. I actually have set #2 for 9-5 :). Matt from Krona is one of the best guys I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I cannot say enough good things about the exhaust. Still looks and sounds like new on my car too. Even with the salty winters of Maryland. Oh and BTW my 9-5 > a TX :)

What makes it sound even better is that it's a 6 speed. I just don't care about an automatic with a rorty exhaust unless maybe it was a dual clutch paddle shift trans. BTW, saw a new Ferrari sitting at a smoke shop a couple blocks from my house yesterday. Couldn't stop to check it out though....on my way to the Dr. office. A bitchin' ride to say the least. It was Corsa Rosso, natch.

I’m assuming this is a v6? I found this video because my flex pipe is leaking now it’s loud af but sounds good when the turbo is spooling up. I like that since we apparently can’t use bov’s on Saabs. Which sucks ass. A turbo without a. Nice blow off valve is like peanut butter without jelly. I have a 06 93 2.0T. I’m trying to see what my options are. The few down pipes I’ve looked up have 2 flex pipes one at the top of the down pipe , and one in the middle of the pipe. Idk if the factory one has the same set up or what. But I was thinking If it does can’t I just get rid of the bad flex pipe and put an electronic exhaust dump? I really like the idea of having it quiet then opening it it up when I want too. Straight sleeper. Does the factory downpipe have two flex pipes on it or no?

yes. this is a v6. BOVs are not great on the 2.0's. I'd recommend an open air intake for more sound. there is one flex pipe underneath the car on the stock 2.0 exhaust. I would recommend watching this video, since it features the engine you're talking about: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZnNZKF_qt6ir5o

Quick question for this you didn't have to do any tuning right? The defouler took care of the cel? I'm in a situation where my v6 has a catless downpipe but no defouler installed so hoping to get the 02 deleted and turn the light off with a tune and still pass emissions. Instead of having to install one. I've been told the defouler is only for cars with no tune.

yeah the defouler took care of the CEL. i got proper tune for it right after though to help the car run best and maximize the gains

if you're removing the cat it's best to get a retune to both get rid of the CEL and account for the changes. i would recommend contacting maptun too to see what they say!

alternator is on the opposite side of the motor, so you shouldn't have to touch it

No no, you switched that around! I think you meant remove the heat shield for the brake booster to get the downpipe out. The brake booster itself was not messed with at all :)

Auto Autopsy I need to replace the brake booster on my 2006 Saab 93 Aero Sport Combi it doesn’t look like is going to be fun to get to that heat shield. So I might as well do what you did and add one more thing to my to-do list (exhaust noises).

I know this is rather unrelated, but what are your thoughts on replacing a key fob shell for a 93? The buttons on mine are worn and I ordered a replacement from ebay. Long story short I found out that if you do not use a genuine fob case it won't close properly like mine didn't and therefore the ignition wont allow it to turn. Is it worth getting hold of another fob case?

On my other 9-3, one of my fobs had been chewed by the previous owner's dog. I just use the other one, but the chewed one still functions. Hopefully you can return the other one you bought, and the buttons on your current one still work. You can buy a "genuine" one from eeuroparts!

A tip is that when you lower the engine don't remove the bolts to the engine mount. Just loosen them enough so you can do what you want, if that doesn't work; then remove them. Getting the bolt back on can be a bitch. Nice job though!! Sounds awesome!!!

Thanks for the tip! That was actually a trans mount, and the part attaching to the frame was actually able to be moved a tad, so I could adjust it before reinstallation if I needed to. I'll keep it in mind for the future!

Hey, just an FYI for everyone. The non fouler is actually unnecessary. Wire 2 resistors in the return feed wire with a jumper around the second resistor back to the end of them and like magic you get half the voltage. This makes the computer think there is a cat, every single time.

I don't even drive my Turbo X anymore because I picked up an Audi A5 but this video makes me miss it. I got my Turbo X at 104k miles and it literally had some type of problem every month. I replaced the ignition coils and spark plugs so many times. Then this summer, the Turbo X just went out the door and had a loose wheel bearing, master cylinder head or some shit for the break line broke along with 2 other calipers that started dragging, replaced 2 of the front rotors. Then I finally fixed those things and I had a week thinking "nothing can happen now, I've fixed everything" sooo then the power steering pump went out and fucked me over.. replaced the whole power steering pressure line and then 1 little fucking power steering return hose elbow broke off and fucked me over even more because I now have to buy the entire power steering pump for 1 little part on it. Man fuck my Turbo X lol. They made yours out of titanium and then mine out of some flimsy aluminum.

The B207 engine is a lot more susceptible to drone than the B284 is. Be prepared to put the resonator back on in case you remove it.

Well, you can always cut off the rear muffler. But if you really want quality sound and performance, I’d recommend an actual system! :) if you search “Saab 9-3 exhaust” on KZbin, you should find a couple of videos of the exhaust setup I have on my 2.0 9-3!

Why would you put RTV on the downpipe to turbo flange? It's a compression fitting. I'd be worried about the sealant boiling up and oozing all over the place.

Frank Miano Manual, it is bone stock it made 281 Hp and 440 Nm on the dyno calculated at the engine...I think there are a couple of problems with turbo X, first is the car is very heavy 1750 kg, the engine is lazy slow reving, the gearbox is slow and notchy when you try to shift it fast and the XWD is also taking power, especially when you floor it on the highway.

It definitely did not make that much power stock, lol. Not even to the crank. Stock internals couldn’t hold that power, assuming the numbers you gave are wheel readings.

It's primarily due to space. Same thing with the Audi B7 S4, 4.2L V8 where it was designed for a 2.0T Turbo. Hard to work on.
