@@shiba3625 Exactly, the one has to do with the shape and quality and control of your vocal cords, the other with the accuracy of your ears. People can have a great voice as a default, and even great ears, but maybe just lack control, or great everything with their voice but be tone deaf or just partially deaf etc. Some of it can be worked on and improved as a skill to a degree, but you’re always a bit limited by what you were born with.

She might have no sense in rhythim, in which case her range will not save her at all. I'm sure that IF she can sing, that voice of hers will translate very well into music. But a great vocal range does not mean someone can sing.

As an introvert myself, I can relate to her. Back in high school I took part of the play in theatre class when I improvise the lines in my mind which I thought it'd work and everyone didn't understand what I was trying to do so I gave up the role to someone else and bury myself. I want to rip that memory off of my mind and to never exist but it just keeps coming back like some trauma. I mean it's not like in karaoke. But damn I could feel it. I remember singing in front of 1000+ people at my school. It was our school band debut and I was the rythm guitarist. The singer shoved the mic in my face and I had to sing it if not it would be awkward on stage and as you'd expected, I embarassed myself. My voice cracked at the last bit. But, the crowd was supportive and my friends made fun of me of course but not in a bad way. It was a bittersweet memory.

I’ll be honest, Hololive is chock-full of great singers, but I 100% support the idea of not having to sing to be an idol. Times are changing, and I can’t speak for others, but I couldn’t sing anything better than a singing-solo-in-the-car-solo, and having that connection is just another thing for the entertainer to connect to with her audience.

Welcome to present danchou experience, also matsuri and watame early days. Especially watame she just bulldozing her way to her own solo concert next month. Also there's legendary dragon cursed karaoke days that she normally refuse to do everyday (she's surrounded by perfect pitch gorilla and suisei so extra singing pressure mind u). There's also choco-sensei and iofi random offkey moment in every song, chocosen usually do unarchived karaoke stream while iofi is rarely doing it in public stream. 40 ppl open Karaoke? It was totally some random bar full of people who've never heard jpop in their life, let alone vocaloid.

That story kinda reminds me of a con that happens at a bar. And somebody in the staff was really pushing for some karaoke for the event. I warned them, most people would only know the tv length versions of most songs. The UK is not like asia. There is no strong karaoke culture here. So if you want this to work, you're gonna have to go into those karaoke audio files and edit them to tv size yourself. And really put in the work. Naturally, this person was too lazy. As a result, ppl tried the karaoke... sang the part they knew and then felt that dread as the song kept going because its the full karaoke version. Upon learning this. No one went on stage to sing for the whole run of the event. I would have but their selection was limited and were popular anime songs as opposed to you know... karaoke songs. You know, like the songs that have singers that are middle level to normal singing voices that most ppl could do or songs that are just essentially tuneful talking. Like James Blunts "you're beautiful"-so easy you can sing it perfectly after a few shots. But nah... put on the jrock voices and pump up that gackt and that dbz cha la head cha la... you know... songs that essentially HAVE to be cover versions because most ppl can't replicate those distinct voices. Lessoned learned people. If you want a bunch of introverted nerds to sing in public. Pick beginner friendly songs. Don't just put on the "classics" and think people would have the confidence to sing them. I say lesson learned, but the lesson taken was don't do karaoke. As opposed to do karaoke better due to the actual thought and effort needed to be considerate.
