I’m an artist. Perhaps you could glaze the painting or use antiquing wax? Something that wouldn’t change the integrity of the painting. Just tone it down a bit.

You could put a clear glass pie plate inside the silver footed bowl to protect it from scratches, then add soil, early tulips or mini dafodil bulbs and cover it with pea stones. Grow the floers on your dining table!

The trophy is actually a good deal at $19. The rough-edged pages on books are cut that way. It’s called “deckle” edge.

Love the footed silver bowl!! Not only will it be great for Halloween, but my first thought was for Christmas with vintage ornaments, or! those beautiful amber ornaments you diy’d this past Christmas with your fairy lights mingled in. I think that would be lovely!

I’ve wallpapered many a room. Those large prints equal a lot of loss when matching the seams. Prepasted wallpaper is much less expensive and is easy to hang

As I librarian I was curious about the Michael Foster book. It wasn't an author I had heard of. From Wikipedia: began his journalism career with the Brooklyn Eagle. He was a reporter and cartoonist for newspapers in Salina, Kansas; Los Angeles, California, and, by 1937, Seattle, Washington.

You can put a glaze over the painting to kind of yellow and age it. It will dull the colors and make it look antique.

Love the black swans. The mirrors that are that horrible gold (my opinion! ) , I spray paint them. They look great done in flat black and use a gold pen, one with a brush. Another one, I did pewter, it looks amazing , with silver and crystal in a bedroom. I do many picture frames, I used to buy new ,but find the spray paint and antique wax better. Love your home and how you bring it all together. I find difficulty getting the right cohesive look. Watching videos like this, makes sense of it all. Xx

Oops, I'm late to the party. Love the wallpaper, the lamps...all the things. I just about gasped when you were at the architectural salvage, and showed that huge gothic revival piece. I've used dark antiquing wax over gold frames to tone down the gold and give them an aged patina. That might be a good option for your mirror gallery wall instead of trying to purchase different mirrors.

What a neat antique place, what’s the location? Look up estate sales in your area, sometimes you can find great items, normally the 2 and 3 day the items are reduced by 1/2 or last day even more. BTW, beautiful family!

Once you wallpaper the wall, maybe use some leftover to put on the side of the drawers so when you open the drawers you get a perk of it. Love your content no matter what format. Love all the treasures you found. Enjoy your videos showcasing your old home and how beautifully you decorate it for every day living and holidays but most especially for Halloween! I love the oil painting you bought but if you want to mute the colors of the flowers a bit you might want to try some dark wax. I use it on paper, cloth, and wood with good results so it might be worth a try🤷‍♀️ You might want to try a bit on a small area perhaps on the back just to make sure there’s no weird reaction with products that might be on the painting. We have considered pulling a color from the wallpaper to do the bookcase as an accent. We aren’t sure on the wallpaper just yet so for now it needed a refresh and something to lighten up the dark hallway. ☺️
