@@patricias5122totally agree . You would be surprised that a lot of dog owners can’t even house break their dog never mind control their dogs. I’m in Ireland and dogs in public places are meant to be on a leash and muzzle if they are reactive. Very rarely do owners comply. They take no responsibility either of picking poo up so you can imagine owners of big dogs only have them for show. I’m a multiple dog owner and wouldn’t dream of letting my dogs off on supervised.

@@TheMegahusky I agree with you. I've also had pit bulls after first rescuing one as a puppy being abused. All of them became extremely loving with people and grew up with other dogs I occasionally fostered. They were never allowed to run free but were walked daily on leash, and their poop collected in bags I'd carry with me. My first was welcome in many stores in town and outside cafes because shop owners said he was the best behaved dog they knew of. On our walks we've had other dogs jump fences or burst out of doors to attack US, not the other way around. My own fence is 6" so mine can't get out. I'm dismayed by the lack of consideration many dog owners show. A neighbor who walked with me was actually surprised to seem me picking up my dog's feces and said he never does, he just leaves it. I will say that one of my pit bulls was aggressive with other dogs on occasion. We finally realized it was due to his insecurity from losing an eye, where he couldn't see on that side.

We have more than 3 videos proving this. Owner claim dogs, tie them up after ACS warns them, then days later lets them loose again. It's a cycle. ACS doesn't care, doesn't give owners tickets or hold them accountable. Cops do nothing. ACS literally told us they can't do anything to dogs or owners till dogs bite someone. Not joking. Just an accident waiting to happen. ACS in Bexar county is a joke. ACS should also be held accountable (the director that "quietly" resigned Shannon Sims). I hope the widow sues Bexar county. I will never forget watching the pit bull break through the screen door, race across the front lawn and take down my 14 year-old friend from across the street who was skateboarding on the PUBLIC sidewalk. I will spare the details, but my friend had to have his face put back on his skull and had massive scars across the entirety of his face. He lost one eye. He had been popular at school. Good looking boy from all the attention he got from girls in school. After he recovered and returned to school, he was changed. Not only in looks, but his personality never returned to the fun-loving skater dude he was. At the age of twenty he took his own life. The note he left had a lot to say about that attack. In my view, it was the dog that killed him.
@LanaRiossАй бұрын
@@tretre3892 one could say the same about fire arms. In my state anyone over 18 can simply walk in to a store and buy one. I don't know why since brains aren't fully developed until after age 20. I have 2 pit bulls and a rottweiler. I also have two children under the age of 3. The dogs are amazing. Very loving. Very protective, which is something I am grateful for. However, I know my limits. My female pit (rescued at about 2 yrs old) does not like socializing with any other animal. She instinctively wants to chase. She doesn't get an opportunity. I make sure that she is always on a leash. Even in our backyard I make sure that she is on a leash because I know if she sees something, she will likely go after it. These dogs have never hurt a single human. This is because, as their owner, I dedicated the time to help train them. I understand their personalities. Some people aren't ready for it. It's unfortunate that there isn't a way to monitor and ensure responsible ownership.

19 years ago, my then 3 year old daughter was bitten in the face by a Rottweiler and she had over 400 stitches and was in surgery for over 4 hours to put her little face back together. She now has scars from her entire cheek being ripped off and hanging, along with her top lip completely torn and several puncture wounds from her forehead to her chin. Today she still has scars but they have faded. She loves dogs and she’s in college to be a pediatric trauma nurse. She wants to help other kids heal from the terrible traumas such as dog attacks and accidents like she did as a toddler. She still remembers the staff, doctors and nurses from that day and how they made her feel safe and cared for. We are so proud of her determination to make a difference and turn her terrible experience into a positive one. I don’t understand why anyone would want to have a dangerous animal that can attack others as their pet. There is no joy in that…just grief. It's how you raise them from " puppies " and that's the key word, from " puppies ". I've raised Rotti's for 30 years, not one have ever been aggressive towards anyone. I also do NOT believe in rescue, there is NO rescuing a screwed up dog, I tried once with a 1 year old whom was beaten, that experiment of over 6 months of trying cost me 23 stiches' in my arm and so I put the dog down. The dog was returned to the Breeder whom offered the dog to me, but they did in all honesty warn me their intention was to put it down after the original owners returned him. What defined the moment was something I did, a movement, a vibe which reminded him of the previous owner and within a split second playing fetch with turned to a nanosecond bite. I was seen as the enemy for ' taking ' his stick yet we were playing for days prior. Something snapped in his hardwiring and that was all it took. It is really sad what people do to dogs, it is really sad that 90% of people should NOT be allowed a dog. Dogs arrive with 0% hostility.....we increase that with every wrong turn we take in training them.

We have a big problem in this country. The attitude of most dog owners is that they refuse to acknowledge that their "pet" could inflict serious or deadly harm. I was a veterinary hospital administrator for 10 years. I was an administrator of a large vet hospital in San Pablo, CA. We saw fighting pit bulls all the time. It was an open secret that there was a pit bull fighting "enterprise" in the community. Men would bring in their Pit Bull dogs with bite wounds/scars all over their head, neck and front legs. We had a case where the owner shot the dog (pit bull) in the head after the dog attacked his son. Pit bulls are tough dogs. The dog was still alive and conscious with a bullet in its head. Pit bulls were originally developed from dogs that were bred for bull baiting and dog fighting. The big difference between a Pit Bull and other breeds is: they don't give a warning bark. Once they bite THEY DO NOT LET GO. The structure of their jaw is very strong: they cause a lot of damage when they bite, more so than with other breeds of dogs. Why do we need dogs that were bred to bite and fight? Many cities ban this breed or you have to get a permit to own one. Insurance companies may not insure your home if you own a pit bull. Some apartments won't rent to you if you own a pit bull. Dogs are the 4th deadliest creature on earth. Looking at the average annual number of worldwide deaths, a Statista report shows dogs cause 35,000 human deaths each year (behind #1 mosquitoes, #2 humans, and #3 snakes). (2) 4.5 million Americans are bitten by dogs every year, according to the World Health Organization, 81 people died after being bitten by dogs in 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported. Many dog bites go unreported. Veterinary hospitals are not responsible to report a dog bite. The owner is responsible to report, and the victim should report the bite, but may victims do not report the attack.

@user-qd3nl6lb6cАй бұрын
It’s an absolute shame, that the “owners” knew those dogs were aggressive. How those dogs got that way, is anyone’s guess. Dogs aren’t naturally aggressive, they have to be taught, trained to be that way. The owners absolutely should be responsible and accountable for these animals, and their behavior and actions as the same as parents should be with their children’s actions, behaviors.
@hejnyeАй бұрын
Dogs can be bred to be very vicious and aggressive naturally in a few generations, female dogs can have up to 8 puppies a liter and have 2 litters a year. How long do you think it would take them to keep breeding the most vicious female to the most vicious male before you had a MAN KILLER?

We once had unfriendly neighbors who had pit bulls, and they walked them up and down in front of our porch where we sat every day, fed the birds, and watched the sunset. The dogs seemed to pick up on these people's hostility and the dogs were looking at us, too much for my taste. What if they sensed their owners' unfriendliness and got loose? It was a major consideration as to why we sold the house and left. I heard that the new neighbors lived there for less than a year. I'm not surprised.

The dogs see should have never been in the yard alone.. if the dogs had bit multiple people before the dogs should have been out down. Those people knew there dogs were dangerous. The dogs should have been in the house in a secure kennel if no one was home. Too many people think their dog isn't dangerous. I had a dog jump a four foot fence , jump on my dog,. I have screws in my wrist. The owner ran over and grabbed the dog as he was lunging toward me. I was on the ground still holding my dog. He asked what happened. He didn't think his dog could jump a four foot fence. The dog was in the backyard alone.

I'm not sure, but her testimony said... The dogs were in the gate when they arrived. She got out of her car, went to the house of the seamstress (who wasn't there) to see if she could drop off the material. After speaking to the person in the house she walked down the driveway and the dog began to climb the fence. Before she got to open her car door, the dog bit her leg/knee/hand and she cried out to her husband, who was in the car looking at his phone. He panicked and immediately got out and tried to help her. Then the dog turned on him. Then the other dog escaped.

This is the first I’ve heard of this case, and it sounds like these dogs have already bit someone before. if I or even a neighbor had a dog that had bit someone and it wasn’t legitimately protecting a family member, the dog or dogs wouldn’t be in the kennel. They would’ve been immediately executed. Sadly knowing how people are, I would probably be jailed for animal cruelty. Idiots/most people prioritize animals over even human life. SMH.
