I miss this band terribly! I love all the other projects from SW, but none of them ever reached that quality, emotion and unique sound. In my opinion this song is just a perfect ending for that wonderful chapter that Porcupine Tree created over almost two decades.
@Worsthoofd6 жыл бұрын
Amen... Wilson is right, dragging it on forever would only retract from the level of awesomeness they achieved. Cherish the memory of them and move on, Steve's solo projects are awesome in a whole different way! Perhaps some kind of reunion in the distant future is all we can (and should) secretly hope for.

This might be my favorite song off of the Incident. Flicker, Octane Twisted, and Time Flies are other favorites. And Gavin makes everything sound better.

His solo stuff doesn't hold a candle to PT, RTRTS was a good album and it went downhill after that, very mainstream music!

One of the most beautiful of Porcupine Tree's songs ever and even better live! Very deep lyrically and subtle musically. You can be progressive without too much major progressions going on. just magical!

For me, The Incident climbed up real high in my all-time favourites of PT. The longer i've listened, the better it became. Its a damn good album.

Of course Gavins entrance is marvelous but look how awesome and sutile are his ghost notes section at 2:23. Barbieri "whispering sound" 2:46... man... everything is beautiful.

When this freedom stains my coat With the winter in my throat When I'm lost I dig the dirt When I fall I drive the hearse And silence is another way Of saying what I wanna say And lying is another way Of hoping it will go away And you were always my mistake Given time I fix the roof Given cash I speak the truth And silence is another way Of saying what I wanna say And lying is another way Of hoping it will go away And you were always my mistake When I'm down I drive the hearse When this boredom wears me out Then the sky begins to cloud Sleeping with my ball and chain When she cries I take the blame And pride is just another way Of trying to live with my mistakes Denial is a better way Of getting through another day And silence is another way Of saying what I wanna say And lying is another way Of hoping it will go away And you we're always my mistake When I'm down I drive the hearse

It's a rarity that's slowly being integrated by modern bands, many are unaware of a fretless existence and are mystified by it. Unfortunately, orchestral music as a whole is largely underrated and often overlooked.
