Hate to say it but this sounds awful to me. Gavins kit sounds terrible especially his snare, there's not enough bass and no balls in general. SW couldn't have mixed this, could he?

The recording wasn't even Steven's idea, he didn't want to release it. You can see how it's a step back from Anesthetize. I think it was Gavin who recorded it or who pushed the recording, which makes what you say about his kit especially weird, but still true.

Rickprog Gavin posts and answers fan questions in the drummerworld forums. If I remember right, he has said that he didn't feel their best performances were captured on the nights that the shows were filmed and that he was against releasing the dvd. I believe he pretty much said it was just a majority vote among the band whether or not to go ahead and make a live dvd, and didn't elaborate beyond that. Definitely got the impression that he wasn't happy that it was released though.

The quality isnt bad at all on the dvd actually. I think it has something to do with youtube compression and the related distortion. It sounds perfectly alright on the dvd, and plus, if you check out drawing the line from the same night on youtube, his snare actually sounds its best.
