When the goats first saw Hercules you could tell they were thinking, “Is that Smokey? Did she shrink?” Then he moved towards them and they ran like scared little girls. So funny. Your goats didn’t take long to decide that Hercules was their guard dog. Looks like it’s gonna be a great relationship.

K&S, When our dog was a puppy & teething, everything went into her mouth if she could get it. Our vet gave us the tip to put the teething toys into a tub of water to soak, then put them into a plastic bag , and then into the freezer for 30 minuets. She loved it cause it was cold and helped with teething, I think. Cheers from Maine.

My grandpa always said when you introduce a new LGD to their new pen/pasture you need to lead them completely around the fence line so they immediately learn the area they are protecting. I noticed Herc was staying along the fence line at Grandpa Adlers farm. Maybe you can walk him around your fence line when you get him to your property.

Awesome seeing you pick up Hercules from the Walkers and yes he got a great bath. So very happy for you as he is such a cutie. Nila seemed to get along with him of which is a good thing. Being around goats at the Walker he is doing great. He will be a wild one once he gets to the terriable twos. My Ginger was a fire cracker. But Hercules is so perious. Hope you got your Dad's fence taken care of. So excited for them to go on vacation. Thanks for taking care of the farm while they were gone. Truly enjoyed this.

You found a weak spot in the fence and reinforced it for your dad. Goats are escape artists. They climb trees, try and squeeze past the smallest of spaces, find the one weak zip tie or wire tie and then tell the others how to get out with them. It's way owners find them hanging upside down by 1 leg in a tree or top wire of a fence, screaming for help with their heads caught in the fence and their horns preventing them from pulling it back in or running down the road and heading for the next countie 1 green patch at a time. So now your dad knows that this spot has been found and reinforced for his goats already. 😉
