Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy addressed the media after No. 13 BYU defeated the Cowboys, 38-35, in Provo in Big 12 Conference action on October 18, 2024.

BYU fan here. Glad to be in a conference with a classy program and fan base like OSU. You guys are WAYYY better than your record states. Ollie Gordon felt nearly unstoppable. Was at the game and spent a lot of time talking to many OSU fans. So friendly, knowledgeable, dedicated, and respectful. Mike Gundy is a total class act. He's a friend of BYU, he made public statements when we were under consideration to join the Big12 conference that showed deep respect for our program, and I believe helped us. He's an incredible competitor and a very fluent coach, too.

I love that he said he thought they performed at the level he expected... then BYU beat them 🙂 That says a lot about BYU this year. This team played for the conference championship last year. That's the team we all thought we'd see this year. Maybe BYU really is a conference title contender!

OSU is an amazing program. Fantastic play action had BYU's D chasing ghosts all night. BYU's O had to step it up to hang in there. All around great effort on both sides made it a super fun game to watch!

had a few OSU fans sitting near us. they were awesome, cheering their team, and were super friendly and just a classy bunch of guys. OSU is so much better than their record shows. classy school and classy program. Couch Gundy is one heck of a couch!

I’m glad to see a coach praise his guys for a good performance, especially if it’s accurate, which I think it was. Most players like to play for a guy like that. I hope BYU keeps the streak going. OSU deserves some bright moments before it all wraps up.

OKS did an incredible job disguising their plays. They practically ran the same 3 plays the whole game and BYU defense was guessing with all the motions and options. Great game scheme.

Hey Cowboy fans, expecting perfection is a pretty tall order. Mike is a good man and a good coach. No coach speak, just straight talk. Results have been good with him for a long time. I doubt another coach will do better.

@@chinsters7644 OSU has all their returning starters from last year, a 7th yr QB, and a returning Heisman hopeful running back. And the results is a 3 game losing streak with 1 win in the Big 12. Gundy is pathetic. I guess your speech every week is the “Better Team won?” Hahaha
