Every proper station needs some rockets for altitude ajdustment. Well, unless your Mun TTW is >1 just with RCS, like my recent Minmus lander. I could launch and reach orbit and return to Kerbin by RCS alone. I will keep that design concept. Super useful to maneouver it over the surface, and also come back if you messed up your dV

Mr. Lowne! I believe I have made a discovery! Do you like flares? I bet you do! First of all, build an aircraft with boxy wings, so there's a lot of space to put stuff under them. Put a radial decoupler under a wing, and a MK0 liquid fuel tank on it, small intake on the front, Juno on the back. Now put a radial parachute on the bottom of the fuel tank. Now the way this works is the entire device will propulse itself off the wing. Remember to have your engines on the first big line, around 1/3 power. This is the staging: 1: The small engine turns on. 2: The decoupler and parachute engage. 3: Watch! I randomly found this building a flare dropper, I totally thought this would fail, but it works!
