Do you know why Deploy Angle isn’t on console version? It’s pretty much impossible to make your crafts without it

I think you need to use authority limit instead. I'm not sure why the console and pc versions use different terminology.

Okay I know I’ve commented a lot but i don’t understand why you speed up the video and make everything hard to follow and don’t explain anything with the Kal 1000 I have to slow the video speed to .25x just to see what you are doing in the action groups

Hey, great video! I just wanted to ask you something. How are you able to get yaw authority on the coaxial configuration? Control surfaces work when the helo is already moving forward, but what about when it is static? Is it just the 15° that you gave to the rotors?

Yes, tilting the rotors forward like that lets the yaw control authority work.

Im so confused, ive followed everything you've done exact for the traditional helicopter and it just dosnt work. it dosnt power up when i throttle up i have to manually set the torque limit andd even at max the best my helicopter does is maintain a slow fall. ive played with deployment angles and everything but i just cant get any lift or automation

did you check if your blades are deployed? might just be a simple overlook for that

I found I had to put the main deploy angle at -90 through -65 to produce any lift and the back rotor at ~-56 to -59 deploy angle. Even with reaction wheels its still extremly unstable and will start spinning (no deploy angle of either helps). Has the game version changed so much that this is useless because literally nothing I do with this design works.

Make sure to place the propellers so that the painted side is towards the direction of thrust. If can share pictures of your design or a craft file, I'd be willing to look at it for you.

@@Echo3 I got one working eventually, I think I was just attaching the propellers to the side of the rotor instead of on the green nodes and that was what messed me up. Also sorry, I realize I was pretty harsh in my comment, no hard feelings?

I like to have the main throttle control the collective. Then bind something else like translate up/down to the torque limit.

Why don't you just use the hinges for movement on the tandem instead of the airbrakes

I have tried to get the hinges to work for me, but so far have not figured out a usable system. The best part about using the airbrakes is that they respond to the SAS.

@@FatDadGamesBad I intended this to be a more advanced tutorial for those familiar with the basics. Since you are on console, some of the game terms will be different. You will need to adjust the authority limit instead of the deployment angle. For the main propeller blades, it is helpful to use action groups to bind the KAL1000 to your main throttle. Then bind the rotor blades' authority limit to the KAL. In the KAL editor, set the limit to go from 0 to 8 or so degrees. Make sure the blades are mounted straight with the striped side up.

When i put the kal 1000 on a heavy lift heli that I designed, I couldnt access anything to do with the axis fields, mainly deploy angle

In the action group tab, did you bind the blade deploy angle to the KAL? Did you remember to deploy the blades?
