Matt, the reason it was behaving weird on minmus at 46:45 was that it auto trimmed the controls. It’s the most annoying thing in the world, you have to go into settings and disable trim. Trust me I spent years struggling because of that stupid thing, it makes you only be able to turn in one direction.
@justaplaneguy29383 жыл бұрын
ME TOO! Years went by, Great for SSTO’s and Submarine but its turned on as default for some reason. I believe its L1 + L3 to turn it on and off but yeah, turn it off in the settings. Also you can quick jump if you can manage to get your curser over your blue orbit and select warp here. You can ALSO Adjust your curser sensitivity. Good comment Seth.

To fix rocket spinning you need to reset the trim. You can see if this is active on the staging screen in bottom left so you can see the roll/pitch/yaw sliders, they’ll have a 2nd slider on whichever one has trim set. To reset: ***L1+LS*** To quickly perform science experiments: set the experiments all to an action group when building. Set the SciJr and Goo unit to a 2nd group as they take longer to perform- seems to work better. Then instead of using cursor mode to save the experiments, exit cursor mode and press ***X*** on the recovery/transmit screen to recover for each one. Pro-tip: there is a 2nd radial menu for SAS options, but I can’t remember what it is! I think you hold L1 when opening the normal radial menu to bring up all SAS presets
@fredericschmitt63493 жыл бұрын
Do never turn R3 while pressing L1. It will lock the last direction the joystick is poinint when L1 release. This is why your vessel started spinning on minmus. Fix it by pressing L1+R3

Dozens and dozens of attemps and i still struggle to land on the Mun. I can orbit Kerbin, transfer to Mun Orbit. Orbit clean. But 1 of 2 issues always happens. Touchdown is ALWAYS bouncy and it ends up on its side, usually destroying so outer equipment like solar panels or parachutes and whatnot, but the other issue, that is very new, if the touchdown is actually going to succeed, something heats up and explodes just a hair before landing. (Oh and being able to tell if the ground is flat enough to land safe....it's like a game of chance. I have a bottom connected rover, with 4 wheels. Plenty of clearance between rover wheels and landing gear feet. 4 of those radial engines, the side mounted ones, white and orange ones i think. One will just randomly explode. Causing a rover wheel close enough by to blow it up. Successfully got an upright touchdown, but the engines blew up randomly about 50-100M from Mun surface. Quickload, retry, same thing happens. It's Mun gravity....but the engines overheat only at 50-100M above Mun Surface? Starting a descent from 20k-40k Km, and they dont overheat. Only just above the ground. Idk, everyone else can explore the System, land on asteroids, Move Asteroids, Mine places, fly around planets collecting data and surveying and ferrying tourists and rescuing stranded kerbals and....freakin space stations. Yea im sure ill be using docking rings very soon. Not. Pff. Probably logged hundreds of hours and i still fail to reach orbit a high percentage of the time. 1 time ever i managed to get to and return from the Mun, safely landing at least on Kerbol without losing anything. Once. Never been able to duplicate that. Still trying to land on Mun without complications that i dont understand. Spent basically all day trying to get to the Mun, but it wont let me land. I tried Minmus once, and was rocked by confusion trying to use the maneuver nodes to get there....although at that point i didnt know the most efficient gravity turn from starting point or how to understand the nav ball as well. I feel like the kid in music class that cant play anything more complex than Yankee Doodle Dandy while the rest of the class is playin Bohemian Rhapsody. "There's Delta V info you can see in such n such a place on the screen". Yea but i barely understand it. More is better is all i know. Just means extra fuel and that cant be bad right? If i have 10 stages, and lots of engines/tanks/decouplers/seperatrons, Takes an hour to sort through and get them properly placed in the right stage. Action groups? Lol. I feel like i need a tech degree to use it. It's so Not intuitive its intimidating. All the side panels with all that information, numbers.... like a big overload of stuff i cant process into applicable ...whatever. "idk what to do with that information" I love this game/simulator, but i hate it too because whenever i play it, i always innevitably turn it off because im just pissed of at myself for being too stupid to understand it without someone handholding be and watching youtube videos second by second and STILL having things happen that i am too dumb to figure out. Another thing is that some of the items that have write ups are comical writeups that reveal NOTHING about the item's intended use, the name isnt helpful, and the "more info" button doesn't actually provide helpful info either. "If Ur not Elon Smart....this game aint for you" KSP Creators, Probably.

Bout a year or two ago, i made my second (or first) ever landing on a moon/planet, and it was on minmus. I was in a huge pickle since it was almost impossible to slow down with what i had; but with a accidentally well-timed time warp and decouple, i somehow caught myself in an invincibility glitch. No crashing into the ground could hurt me anymore (and i tried everything to revert this because i felt like i was cheating). After a reinstallation and deletion of things without thinking, it was reverted. And that was the story of my only encounter with the kraken. Also, yes i know, "pics or it didn't happen," but i thought this would be a nice starting point to mention other stories. (Plus i was better off without the glitch)
