I remember when I built and flew my first laythe SSTO, and I still vividly remember that I spent entire days time warping to perform maneuvers that would get me my gravity assists that would get me to laythe and back. That mission took 500 years of game time and 2 weeks of real time. Also I noticed that Matt put vectors on the upper stage of the launcher, and I do that too for a high thrust to weight upper stage and I thought I was weird for doing that.

Mission plan: Apollo-style mission, but one you land and rendezvous with the command module, you don’t ditch the lander. You A: bring it back to Kerbin with the command module, or B: you make the lander a little too big so it can get back to lko on its own. Either way you bring the lander back and leave it in lko. Then as a separate or the same vid, send up a craft that adds a heatsheild and chutes.

Landed me a Rover on laythe today. Was almost a disaster. Ended up screwing up my jool encounter and captured in the opposite direction of the moon's, so when I got my laythe encounter, my relative velocity was over 6km/s. I had to make a few minor corrections before my encounter, that way I was going to punch the atmosphere at the steepest angle I could get. Had just over 3km/s DeltaV, burned it all and I still hit that atmosphere at about 3400m/s. Landed going only 6.8m/s. Don't know how it survived.... long live ablative shielding 😂.
