Hey Matt! Quick video idea: I see that you have rarely, if ever, made a VTOL spaceplane (except for the Minmus VTOL). Simply adding an aerospike to the bottom of the spaceplane can make it a VTOL. That would solve all of your issues: precision landing because you don't need to glide, no need for a long strip of flat ground, no need for chutes because you don't need to come in fast, and no need for making sure your plane is stable at low speeds. Also, you can actually use normal engines with a KAL1000 controller to act as RCS thrusters. Thought that might be useful for the nose-down issue.

I think it would be cool to launch a mission to the mun where you have a central radio station on the ground and some ground stations spreading out around it in some shape. I'm really interested to see how you got the spaceplane back into orbit after landing on Duna. Most of my similar designs required some way to point near vertically because I couldn't gain enough velocity/lift with nuclear engines alone.

If you feel like you can add a drogue chute a third of the way from the back in the main chute action group, it'll help slow the nose from hitting the ground so hard without yeeting it into the air, since you're already slowing down. Also useful for if you've clipped your wing and are now falling out out the sky, held with rotations

You can use trajectories mod to land where you want to. It calculates the trajectory of of the craft in the atmosphere and is more accurate than just eyeballing it.

Even better then Vernors is just an Aerospike on the front belly. Still need a little oxidizer tank but it keeps your nose up and slows your velocity to nothing. Pretty much a must when you start doing Duna cargo planes.

Yo Matt, I hope you are good. I was wondering if you could perhaps make a vtol ssto using the propeller parts for a duna or laythe mission. It's rare to see people using the propeller rotor parts, I guess in that capacity and it would definitely be interesting to see! Regardless, I hope all is well for you and your fam! EDIT: Perhaps to extend this concept, the base could be extended with a mining and fuel processing building/section that has an airlock or clamp-o-tron so that it can land vertically on the roof and get refilled for long exploration journeys and maybe even for return trips.
