It's awesome that they continue to release KSP updates, even when KSP 2 is in development. And yes, I know it is basically 2 different companies doing the games, but still.

@1gioferra96rock
@1gioferra96rock 4 жыл бұрын
@@jackeldridge1319 The turbopump exhaust goes into the combustion chamber only in the case of a staged combustion cycle engine (like the RS-25 from the Space Shuttle) or in an expander cycle engine (like the RL-10). In the case of the Mainsail, I guess it's a gas generator cycle because the gases produced by the generator go to the turbopump and then overboard. This happens because the gas generator operates at a different mixture ratio than the thrust chamber in order not to stress the turbine too much. The exhausts of the generator is thus incompatible with the mixture in the main chamber

6:26 You guessed absolutely right, the Vulcain is a gas generator cycle engine and these are the exhaust pipes for the turbo pump exhaust. The two little nozzles are just there to get a bit of extra push from the remaining pressure of that gas, making the engine just a little bit more efficient. I'm not sure though as to why there are two of them, maybe it's just to keep the thrust symmetrical or there are separate turbines for the fuel and oxidizer fuel pumps respectively.

If I understand your question correctly, the tubes are the exhaust of the generator. Usually they create almost no thrust, since most of the gas work (А) is spent on rotating the turbine. Если я правильно понял твой вопрос, трубки - это выхлопные трубы генератора. Обычно выхлопные газы генератора почти не создают тяги, так как большая часть их работы затрачивается на вращение турбины.

it’s more like the delta IV, also had 3 cores, had similarly shaped engines, only had 1 engine per core instead of 9, had orange tanks bc it was using hydrolox (the orange colour is caused by the insulating foam) and it had cross feeding which the falcon heavy did not end up using, so it’s in every way a lot more similar to the delta IV heavy rather than the falcon heavy

Matt I think your talking about the fuel pump that are the two smaller nozzles on the mainsail. Most engines got one for example the merlin 1D by SpaceX. Its like another smaller engine that uses rocket power to spin the turbine so fuel will keep on flowing to the main combustion chamber and those small nozzles is where they dump the exhaust.

I vote Quad Copter! I tried to build one and, in theory, everything should work fine. The rotors I chose are plenty powerful but I have no clue if the propellers are too big, or the design is flawed some how. Hell I might have even put the propellers facing the wrong way on the rotors... I don't actually know how to use them at all and it would be really handy if you could make some more videos on the robotics themselves.

I don't normally rate one launcher over another, but today I realised this is my favourite non-SSTO launcher. The IVA view while cruising past the mothership was great! :D I think this might be my favourite Matt Lowne video, which is saying quite a lot. If I haven't liked or commented on it before, it's because it was one of the very first Matt Lowne videos I watched, way back in the _dark_ and _lonely_ days before I signed in to KZbin. XP 10:15 Oh, hi Matt! XD The screenshot moments are the best! :D Especially the reentry one. Ah, so this was the one with the review of B̴̢̢̔͜ȩ̴͖̓̀l̵̡̗̘̙̋͝ḷ̶́s̶̬̰̾̓̆̈́. Being greater than 1 year since this was posted, I could technically be watching this video "years" down the line. That comment of yours in the video was so meta. Made me feel things.

Crashing the lander on Dres could have been a good show for the sismic analyser use.... And some fuel saving for the return, too! Beware of dumping fuel away! It makes a little thrust (hey! it's basicaly a RTS, after all!) that can blow a faraway node!

I'd love to see you accomplish what Charlie Pryor attempted with his Conquering Kerbal Space Program series. His goal was to get a self sufficient base on every planetary body in the ksp solar system. He never came close to finishing it. I would love to see you make an attempt at it. KZbin needs that kind of ksp play through. Would you ever consider doing that kind of play through?

Extremely pleasant voice to listen too. That landing I the canyon had me rolling. Love that land feature. Not sure if it’s proper to call geographic feature off the planet. I think geo is Greek for earth. Yeah definitely topographical

I've seen someone make really nice animated water which i think had bump maps too using just kopernicus - it would be amazing if the ksp devs could add something like that in.

Matt I'm not really wrong with the booster stage(orange) being similar to Delta 4 heavy but if the color was white it would look like a concept of falcon heavy

4:10 Wait... The falcon heavy doesn't do that? If it doesn't how does the core booster burn longer than the side boosters? Doesn't they consume the same amount of fuel? And don't they have the same amount of fuel?

If KSP has taught me anything - I'm guessing the central core has its max thrust limited until separation, allowing the two side tanks to balance the remainder of the TWR and the structural loads at max Q

@@_RPJ_ Ohh, that makes sense, it's kind of a bummer though, FH could've been more powerful if they managed to do it.

Do you think that eventually they will allow you to build a space station in space that will allow you to use the same build mechanics as you have on the ground? If you where allowed to build and transfer materials into different environments like the moon or in orbit or in between the orbit of the moon and kerbel to facilitate orbital building. Maybe next instead of all missions being from kerbel to the various interstellar bodies. It will be a infrastructure simulator with the design freedom to build orbital and or dif-planetary colony infrastructure. While designing ships designed purely in space to transfer cargo.With maybe time based mission of sending supplies between your stations and or colony. Say build ship on kerbel fly to stations with supplies. Transfer supplies to different ships or from station to different ships and or colonies. Maybe?
