@@NoahDaun-yd2epif you have control of both vehicles and can rendezvous then the lowne lazy method trivialises it -approach and kill relative velocity, get decently close (like target on other vessel’s docking port - set sas to target - switch vessel, repeat from step 2 - gently accelerate one vessel toward the other

Should of clipped it. The probability that everything aligned perfectly for a less than 0.1km encounter is so astronomically improbable... I’m hard pressed to believe this actually happened. If it did... damn bro! Check the map prior to launch while on t launch pad 😂. If it didn’t happen... great story

Not enough delta-v to descend and ascend. But there is EVA suit fuel with the inventory system, so you could have a storage container with more.

This kind of playing around in low gravity is what makes me keep coming back to this game. :) Just for giggles, I went to the inner planet and turned on infinite fuel and orbited my kerbal with just his EVA pack. It was cool as heck.

I am unbelievably jealous. I haven’t made it to Minmus yet. I only have 3 satellites in sandbox mode. Update: In the months since this comment, I have progressed greatly. I have so many satellites around Kerbin that collision is actually a threat. A Mun colony, working rescue crafts for Mun landings gone wrong. I’m honestly impressed with myself.

I recently did my first orbital spacecraft assembly. Due to a lack of foresight, I had to send it to minmus instead of duna, as I had put too large a payload on it.

What do you think about something which is absolutely the contrary of what you usually do ? A Multi Launch Mun / Duna Station - as realistic as possible with KSP Stock Parts. No huge SSTOs, no weird locking stacked Rockets. Its going to be hard i guess but i would love to see that from you once.

I just realised that if you make a robotic arm with the actuators and rams and stick a grabber on it, your mining vessel can grab onto any other vessel and refuel it.

yesterday i returned from duna with starship wannabe version, on my way back i was left with 600 delta v, with this i managed to get into kerbin 85km orbit and land with help of some parachutes and engines, he called me a cheater that this is unposible... well thing is i learned to aeorbrake from Matt Lowne, and everything is posible :D D

I've made a cute little Gilly Hopper with 2x RCS quads with thrust set very low, and instead of landing legs I use the small hinges and a few of the tiny cube frames. The stock landing legs bounce too much even with weak springs and dampers!

kewl beans, having played this game years ago, i think pre 1.0 era, i've recently picked it back up after seeing ksp2 reveal trailers and the 1.8 update, so much has changed that my head is still spinning but the career mode is amazing to play, been chucking about 12 hours into it over the last 2 weekends, which is more than double what i usually spend gaming.

having a bottom heat shield only is ok because all of the mass is concentrated at the bottom of the heat shield, so aerodynamics dictate that it is not likely to tumble and flip. You just have to make sure the heat shield is on the side with more mass. Thats why you dont need 2 on kerbin, and you dont need 2 on eve either.

My first landing on Gilly: I brought a small probe with a terrier, expecting gravity to be slightly lower than on Minmus. The probe also had RCS. I had to use the terrier at very low power. Then, I decided to do an experiment (after finishing the mission). The probe escaped Gilly with only RCS thrusters.
