In ksp2 we should have a lot more ground dependent science equipment, to make exploring planets a lot more fun, and more of a goal. Because currently people don't really spend time using rovers because it really isn't worth it.

@danieljensen2626
@danieljensen2626 4 жыл бұрын
You can usually always turn down graphics settings. It will be nice to have better stock visuals, since in regular KSP every update breaks the visual mods and you're back to visuals that weren't even good in 2011.
@icecold9511
@icecold9511 4 жыл бұрын
@@danieljensen2626 The graphics weren't the issue. KSP simulates each part separately. That leads to a lot of demand on the CPU, and issues of the Kraken, causing wobbles that shred a station or ship, often simply by switching to them.
@Nezerathian
@Nezerathian 4 жыл бұрын
The demand for CPU power feels like exponential to complexity of project. We would need true multi core usage and optimization. Im afraid that limiting size of craft in game is a way to limit our CPU usage in simulation. There is high chance that programmers know already that Kraken is coming. And no visual lowering will help complex craft when entering atmosphere with orbital speeds.

I think you'll be disappointed if you're expecting anything even near Surviving Mars. That's a dedicated colony sim. I expect colonies in KSP2 will be managing just food, electricity and population, and maybe ore processing for building rockets, all within a single "structure". Colonies in KSP2 will be a means for doing further exploration (which IMO is the main point of the game), rather than the core focus in of itself.

@@Theren5534 NMS is one of those rare situations where a dev fucks up and actually fixes it instead of taking the money and running or releasing half-assed fixes that help nobody. I wouldn't even say it was entirely Hello Games' fault that they messed up, seeing as they were developing NMS under Sony, and of course Sony had a hard-set, unflexible release date. They got it out and moved on, started working on bugfixing and new content. And now, four years later, it's actually a really good game if you're into grindy exploration games. I bet the people who sent death threats to Hello Games staff (especially Sean Murray) feel mighty dumb right about now.

We need more developers like the fine people of Hello Games, because this industry is sorely lacking in integrity and those guys showed it. Regardless, it's good that you got messed up like that OP, because gamers need to learn to temper their expectations if we are to learn anything from the past 10 years of the gaming industry's constant fuck ups.

0:43 This base makes me hope they have a whole new method for building bases on other astronomical bodies. I love KSP1, but building a modular base anywhere other than the super smooth flats of Minmus is a huge challenge. Making sure all the modules are of the right height, aligning the ports perfectly, ensuring the weight distribution is OK. Pistons helped, but I want some kind of better GUI that lets you create large, perfectly level bases on sloped terrain.

My suggestions: 0:49-I think it's just a Laythe model Puf may be tidal locked an situated beyond Godillocs zone of its star, so atmosphere and ocean is present only on the day side. Also its rotation around star and around itself nay correlate as 2 to 3 for example. It means, that one year consists from 1,5 day. This ocean may also be a giant crater idk.

I love how I used a lot of nerteas (and others) graphics mods and then thinking "can't wait for these mods to come to ksp 2!" Just to realize that is not only nertea is on the ksp2 team, but a lot of his visual mods are just ported straight from ksp 2.

Believe it or not, the KSP guys actually showed this video (minus the online meeting bit) all the way back in March for PAX East, so all of this may already be even more overhauled than what we see here! I'm surprised it took this long for them to reupload it for the public, but apparently they had it under wraps quite well

Puf clearly has a Uranus situation, where its orbit was once horizontal (as is natural during the formation of planets), but got hit by an object big enough to send it spinning until its axis was tilted

That yawning female kerbal looks amazing. Also that "Puff" planet, often called an Eye-ball planet. Typically, the "eyeball" always points toward the sun, like the moon our Earth. Which means Tidaly locked planet. I hope she orbits a pair of M-Dwarf stars. Now that would be exquisite. As for exploring it, yeah you can do the ocean. But if it really is tidally locked, it will be a greater challenge to have power for any rover/plane/drone exploring the dark side. I can't wait !

Well they actually they did show us the multiple player development by showing us some of the emotes that people playing with each other can use. And if we speculate further this also might mean players can make their own servers. Who knows, but we will find out soon.

Puf is an eyeball planet. (yes that is what they are actually called) They are tidally locked to the star and that is why one side is always warm the other always cold. If you have water on it at the right distance you get something like Puf.

Seems like kerbal 2 is trying to go into the direction of simple rocket 2 as with vastly larger rocket designs, real emphasis on interstellar exploration and a multitude of outpost planet base designs. Their job isn’t easy since games like this are so massively CPU dependent with all the real-time physics being rendered on screen, but hopefully this game gets released as it’s very intriguing and I love KSP very satisfying game overall.

I don't think console players will get updates faster. The updates for PC go from the developers to the user. For console, it must go to the console approval team so they can test it for stability and make sure it's clear of any malicious code. This approval takes time, so the only way to get console and PC players to get content the same day is to delay PC deployment until the console is cleared.
@ShadowZone

I don't think console updates will be at the same time as PC updates. But I am hopeful it will be faster than it is for KSP1, which wasn't created with consoles in mind from the start.

I was thinking that one used conventional explosives (the smaller one) and the bigger one used nuclear explosives. In the real Orion drive, there was a "minimum size" required to make sure the nuclear explosion doesn't turn the crew and anything else inside into a pancake.

Bro they need to add sinking physics. SO if you land on a planet/moon with water you can actually sink if you hit the water to hard. It will still have the same thing from KSP 1, where if you hit the water TO hard, you basically break apart. It would be a good idea if you think about it. Gives it more of a challenge.
