I had a 88 Honda Prelude 4WS that I used in solo II in SCCA. The very first rally-cross in my region, I decided to run it. Bought a pair of Blizzaks just for the event, and took 1st in my class, and second over-all. Would have done better if I had raised the ride height up a little. Fun stuff!

Chop the cross member. You got a ton of room to move that assembly back. I've seen ya do this stuff, you'll even make that cross member removable so you can get the trans out in the field. :) This is gonna be epic.

There's a reason Utes are a favorite for burnout cars. More weight over the front, less over the rear, easier to get the rear end loose. Keep the engine as forward as possible.

Ive used a 2010 camaro water pump before. Its pulley will line up with a “truck” balancer and the outlet on it comes out on the drivers side which makes for an easier hook up to your radiator. My 0.02.

I'd keep the engine forward if possible. Will spin the tires a lot easier with less weight on the rear. Unless you're planning on trying drifting with it in the future. Then move it back so you can get more grip. Looking good 🤘

Wrong, still need weight over rear or not enough friction to make good smoke or get the tyres off, my motor is almost completely behind the front axle Centerline & I recently added 150kg in my boot & that is still not enough weight on the rear tyres

P-air makes mock-up blocks that are anatomically correct. Not sure how big the investment is, but it might be worth it for all the fab work you do.

Im pretty sure the pans starting from left goes, F-Body then Truck then LH8 then GTO. Corvette pans have the wings on both sides and are pretty much unusuable in anything other than a corvette. Have fun with the build!

Committing to cutting the rear crossmember gives you a ton more options for engine placement and it is probably less work to do that, than to spend time fussing over every spare millimeter at the front of the engine.

Funny enough, I've been debating doing the something like this but inverse. I've got a 5th Gen Camaro with the 3.6 and I'm know as "that wacko who wasted his money on the 6 cylinder Camaro". I finally paid the car off and wanna do something fun and different. I don't mind being "the guy with the 6 cylinder Camaro" so I've been thinking of either a JZ or an RB swap and turning it into a drift car

I have no idea what talking about ! but would it be good idea to add weight plate (or bar to hang weights) on the front of the car like the front wheel drive drag hondas doo ? As surely it would be good to have more weight over front wheel for breaking (stop push through front tires) and steering kind a reverse drag setup were your 70/30 front weight this mean the tire will spin easier as there less pressure on them ?
