I am only 178cm and the Honda touring screen still was noisy as hell for me. Even with a 4cm raise with one of the adjustment fixtures. Since yesterday I have a cheap clip-on screen on top and for the first time I could go 130 km/h without earplugs. It really helps. I have it set up to be in front of the Honda screen.

Where did you buy this cheap clip-on screen. What is the name of the part, what did it cost then I could buy it from Germany. Thanks in advance for your answer.

Appreciate you showing the installation. Before watching your video I was concerned the nuts would fall once I unscrewed the bolts, but glad to see the rubber nuts actually stay put
@KSSTUDIOS2 жыл бұрын
The rubber nuts (well nuts/expansion nuts) do wear out over time. Multiple windshield removals will stretch them out and require replacing them.
@filipemarto58433 жыл бұрын
You can add a small deflector on top of your windscreen, which is cheap, easy to install and adjustable. I added one to my NC (2020 model) and it helped.

I had a CTX 700 and put a larger Madsted windshield on it in an attempt to get rid of helmet buffeting. It was better, but not even close to good enough and that was especially true on the highway. A lot of the turbulence was coming up from the sides around my legs and up from the area around the triple tree. I lived with it for 3 years and with the exception of the buffeting, I really liked the bike. But when I traded up for a BMW RT1200 and found the comfort of not only a well designed windshield, but a bike engineered to keep turbulence off of the riders I came to understand that a windshield alone can only do so much.

Totally agree! I really like this bike for local riding but would be very hesitant doing any long touring on it.

I'm 5'-10 and fitted a GIVI D-1112ST screen on my cb500x. This worked really well for me at highway speeds. I sat on a '21 nc750x recently and found the sitting position very similar to my bike.

I have the larger screen with a cheap E bay deflector and this works for me for touring. I ran the stock screen also with the cheap deflector which was an improvement but the tall screen is so much better.

It is not only about how tall the windscreen is, it is also about how far you sit away from it. If the windscreen is too far in front of you, you will always sit in the turbulent air no matter how tall the windscreen is. The most quiet place is right behind the screen. Unless you don't want to bend forward all the time i don't see a way to effectively fix this constructive given fact of the NC.

I got a tall Parabellum screen for my NC700X 2 years ago. It takes 4 people to hold all the hardware while installing it so I never tried it. I did learn that removing the screen is quieter but wind chill in winter is brutal.

I ordered a Parabellum, liked the looks and different height options. Finally got it and quickly found it was for pre-2016 NCs. Didn't come close to lining up, was super bummed

I ordered a bracket from Palmer in the UK. it pushes the screen out a few inches, and you can raise/tilt to several different settings. I'm able to get my tinted Puig screen to where my head gets no air, but then it pours in underneath and beats up my midsection. Started to think I'm just a big bitch, and need a Goldwing to have a full pocket of serenity lol. Maybe I'll go back to that Palmer set up for hotter temps?

Hi, I ordered the Honda touring screen and had it fitted right from the start. I find it only slightly better than the stock screen. So I’m disappointed with it and have therefore ordered the Puig screen. I’m 6’1 and like to sit fairly upright. I was getting a lot of buffeting on my shoulders and top of my helmet. I would say that if you are over 5’10 don’t bother with the Honda tour screen.

It could do with a wider windshield as well as a taller one. You don't have a cold problem down there in Phoenix, which is the hottest place I've ever been to, but here in the UK the temperatures in the winter, commonly combined with rain, demand better weather protection than either of these screens provides.
@KSSTUDIOS2 жыл бұрын
A wider/taller aftermarket solution would be better for long trips where weather protection was a real concern. This does the job for commuting and quick weekend rides.

Wind noise seemed to be much less. Mote that an engineer from Harley Davidson in a video about the bike he was lead designer of said that windscreens are only half the story, the fairings are the other half of the story for upper body and head. The fairings do not jist effect the lower 2/3 of body as most people think. And buffeting of head is mostly from air that comes off fairings and hits you from underneath helmet, armpits too. Not that you are going to replace fairings. Just sharing

Hello, and greetings from Portugal. I ordered my NC already with the tall windscreen and in my opinion it is still not tall enough. May be buying an aftermarket taller one in the future.

I still have this tall windscreen on the bike as I feel it works better for me than the stock one. It could be better though. I picked the Honda branded one since it was the most readily available one at the time. The aftermarket accessories were still pretty scarce for this new model NC750X.

@@WheelsNotHeels I am just starting to look at the NC750. Coming from a Goldwing with an adjustable screen so that is one are I am sacrificing. Looked at the Madstad. The install looks crazy. Nice once it's done and provided a spot to mount your cell phone or GPS. But did you do the install yourself? Have to disassemble the front end to get it on. Would be a good time to add a USB outlet in the frunk as well as another for the device you mount on the bars.

Tall screens look ugly but, worst of all they create nasty turbulance at higher speeds and outright dangerous in windy conditions. After 2000+ miles trip, the first thing I did was removing the garbage. If you ride below 65mph and don't mind ugly, it is ok.

Nice well presented video. As a 21' NC 750 owner I too have problems with windscreens being too low and too narrow. In truth, for a screen to work for me it will have to be 3 inches wider and taller than the Honda upgrade but it may be odly ugly. I think the Honda upgrade screen would be better if it had a "flip top" type reverse curve to throw the air stream higher. The only screen that worked for me on my Kawasaki SX had a flip top but wow! it was ugly to the eye. I think maybe the the motorcycle designers just cannot bring themselves to draw them. Another source of turbulance is the mirrors. Mirrors could be mounted further out to the side but again that can detract from the look of the bike. A lot of turbulance is directed upwards from the lower edges of the screen and my friends Harley was was fitted with fork mounted leg shields to great effect. Honda are no worse than most other bikes of this style and at least Honda do offer a larger screen upgrade. I look forward to a follow up video where you try the clip on screen. Thanks for posting.
