Any updates on your 450 you motivated me to take my 03 yz450f and the motors in the shop I just had to get a new right case a jug an trans and a wrench rabbit kit. I bought my bike a year ago the guy told me that I needed a new clutch and that the top end was replaced only to have a catastrophic failure my mechanic said that my crankshaft bolt wasn’t torqued properly and there was play and when she made her revolution she punched a whole in my jug and the broken piece did a number internally and it’s been a journey ever since very stressful but I been able to keep pushing and thankful for my old man for being there for me during this process. but my bike if I were able to post a pic the bike I got has a lot of life left in her and isn’t clapped out or anything but I just wanna thank you and I enjoy your content and hope you get some sponsors and more support from the community . Hi Daniel, this is such an amazing build! I suggest putting on it '07 rear plastics, airbox and seat to add just a bit of spice to the build! The PC pipe isn't making any difference in sound from the OEM one. (I have a 125exc which has the same engine). For the sound you should go with a PC/fmf or hgs silencer, it really depends on how you like the sound to be: PC and fmf will make it scream, hgs gives it more of a crisp sound. If you want to do some engine mods, you should look for the EU version of 2K-3 ignition system with his ECU. (Sorry for my bad english)
@DanMX21122 жыл бұрын
Sweet, thanks for the input, and like I said in the video it was a budget build for sure. I wasn’t even going to go with a new pipe, but the OEM was garbage, cracked and bent up. Pipes do make a sound change, but the silencer ultimately had the flare for sure. I had a factory fatty fmf on my yz250 and a shorty silencer, but it was dull with the shorty till I threw the fatty on and it pops much more. I loved fmf, but they treated me horrible over their mistake on a pipe build. Kinda got a bad taste lol I didn’t know that about the ignition, so this is good to know. Thanks For the input, I love it!!!

Man, this thing turned out very nice, well done!!.. Hey, does yours have good bottom end torque? I have the exact bike, same year too.. Mine is a dog down low, you really notice it when taking off slowly in the sand. You gotta wind her out a bit to get going, but once you hit mid to high RPM the bike pulls hard with excellent torque. Engine has a new top-end, jetting is good. I replaced the power valve control arm down behind the clutch cover, the one that has the finger which rides in the power valve timer/governor. If you haven't already (assuming you did however) make sure to check yours, it's a common wear item most people overlook. There were flat spots worn into the small finger on mine, which resulted in excessive play in the powervalve assembly, causing the flapper to flop around (basically staying opened) at low RPM when it should've been completely closed. Anyway, replacing this part made a huge difference, but it's still not where I know it should be with bottom-end power. I did notice after replacing the control arm, the freeplay is ALMOST gone now, but not entirely, and it looks like I may need to replace something else within the powervalve train. Anyways, appreciate the cool videos! I'd like to see that bike in action, if you do a riding video, that would be awesome.
@DanMX21122 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the love. Also, I haven’t ridden it yet so we will find out soon! Stay tuned for the video. Mine is in great shape with no wear at all, so I shouldn’t have that issue. Also, I haven’t tuned in the power valve yet to see the difference, but will see.

i've been looking at oils to buy by the gallon for my bike and ive read so many mixed reviews about using "car" oil in bikes.... can i get your opinion on the shell rotella t4 you had in the video? i have a rmz450 and a yzf450, if 4 stroke changes anything. the issue with using "car" oil seems to be with the clutches being soaked in the motor oil.
@DanMX21122 жыл бұрын
Where the issue comes in is when you use a motor oil with friction modifiers. Most synthetics now days come with them, it preserves bearing life and makes the surfaces slicker, of that makes sense. That being said, a wet clutch, that we run in dirt bikes, can’t work with friction modifiers. The Rotella T4 is a high detergent oil with no friction modifiers. High detergent helps keep parts clean and sludge free. It’s diesel oil, and is some of the best oil in the market for what we need in our bikes, at a bargain of a deal too. There is no such thing as “car oil”. You can run yamalube in a car just fine for 100,000 miles and never have issues if you use the correct weight. Oil is not equal, but, we change it every 4 hours, so why run synthetic without modifiers, and why run expensive oil at all? I’ve ran Rotella in my 2 stroke and 4 stroke bikes for almost 12 years now and never seen negative effects. I also run it in my lawn mower, tiller, anything with a motor in my possession, other than my cars that use a synthetic blend. Hope this helps, and honestly, go watch my top end rebuild video all the way through and you’ll see how clean my motor is after 3 years and 130 hours.

Would this be a good race bike for a 14 year old with experience I'm looking to get into racing
@DanMX2112 Жыл бұрын
Ya it would be a good bike for a 250 class. The 125’s can race in a 250 4Stroke class, as the power is comparable. A 250 4 stroke has a better power band but is much heavier and going to be more expensive to maintain:
