I love the Signal, but be careful using it as a hammer. Hold your hand up as high as possible so if you mis-strike you have a better chance of stopping your swing before the tent peg stabs into the side of your hand. I’ve seen a few gnarly pics of that happening.

I've been seeing some people do some col builds with Honda TRAIL125s. The new green color for this year looks amazing for whats basically an adventure scooter. IMO its be great for the grid roads and side roads of Alberta and Saskatchewan where you're not going 100kph anyway. Theres an older gentleman in Florida moding some for his adventures. his channel is called vintage garage.

Hi Michael !! This type of adventure touring bike is, by experience, the best way to explore and discover. Once I was able to afford quality equipement, I actually enjoyed riding in the rain especially with heated grips and handlebars muffs. I had over 20 bikes over the years and my favorites were XR 650 L and VStrom 1000. If I were to buy another bike it would be something like your KTM because I found the VStrom to be to heavy for tight mountain trails. I would also recommend a set of hard saddle bags which also serve as support for your Savota bag or even a larger bag. Take care and enjoy !!
@TheEmporiumOutdoors
@TheEmporiumOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Thats so cool - 20 bikes is a lot! 😄 So far I've very happy with the KTM, especially all the ABS and traction control aides. I'm just starting out off-roading and it's a long road to becoming competent. From what I've researched, I'm leaning to soft saddle bags as they are safer in a fall and tighter to the bike. Would you still go with the rigid saddle bags instead? Thanks for the advice! 👍
@stephanelachance6195
@stephanelachance6195 Жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, I had soft bags on my XR 650 L and company hard bags on my ST 1100 so when I got the Vstrom I chose small hard cases( something like the Givi E22N) because I prefer they be watertight, lockable, easier to wash and easy to remove from the bike to bring inside. I also chose a model with the opening on top because on the ST the whole side opened and stuff would often fall out. Also soft bags can sag and come in contact with the muffler. I havn't been riding for many years so I'm not up to date on the new products but I'm sure you will enjoy the usefullness of your new equipement. Take care!! @@TheEmporiumOutdoors

Yea - I think they make the bike look more ADV and not as much on road. They also have some flex to them to protect from off road shocks. Both versions are way ahead of the other brand options in my opinion!

Nice spot you found! When I was on the road a lot I'd use automotive ceramic coating on the visor to keep the rain and bugs at bay, and ran a little bottle of quick detailer and microfiber cloth in the top of the tank bag to get rid of bugs from the visor. Dam things get thick in the evenings. Cheers.

There’s a saying: "You never see a motorcycle parked in front of a psychiatrists office.” The scenery around the campsite is very nice. The lake was beautiful. I’ve owned a couple of tank bags, they definitely come in handy. If you don’t have one, I would suggest a kickstand puck to help keep your kickstand from sinking into soft ground. ✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🤘🏻

What stephane says is true. I am a bit OCD so recommend that you create an actual load plan for your kit based a theory of grouping by your preferred method of use. Also recommend a light block and tackle to help drag your bike up a hill when you need it. I have used mine for other people but never for me. I guess it’s good luck, too.

Hi, just found your vids... I have had a KTM 390ADV for about 3yrs now wanted to get into green landing & short adventure trips(see my vids), still loving it... You can lift the front screen a bit via the Allen key bolts on the front. Also, I ended up fitting a Givi spray guard on the rear wheel as it just kept soaking my back in water... Looking forward to future vids & Hello from England. Edited... Presuming the bike is the same as mine was, did it limit your revs to 6k until you passed 600 miles?
@TheEmporiumOutdoors
@TheEmporiumOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips! Have you had any issues with the 390? I did try and raise the front windshield but there wasn't enough, so I added the bolt on extension. Seems to be much better so far! During the break in I did limit the RPM and varied the rev range with no hard accelerations. First oil change is now done 😄 I'll be sure to check out your videos! 👍

Very nice video! Just a minor thing: Does that helmet fit you properly? I never had any flip up helmet in the appropriate size, that i could put on without opening the mechanism first. And i tried them all out at least once.

Yup - The helmet is nice and snug, a little on the tighter side but that should ease off after a few more hours sweating in it 😄 The foam is replaceable too, so after a few years I can replace it if it starts to get crushed 👍
