Just having a little fun with the old girl on a twisty road here.
The 990 however was very difficult to ride due to the horrendous throttle response....
I've tried my best to "fix" it but it's "rideable" at best(a progressive throttle cam helped a lot! ; RC8 throttle cam in my case)...my engine cut out when pulling the clutch is also still there...

just about 20km east of Ljubljana...I can't remeber where it was exactly, but the area is full of roads like this.

what i did on mine as it was the same low down was ditch the stock silencers, make sure the Akra map you have suits the silencers you put on (Decatted) change front sprocket from 17 to 16 tooth and is good to go now, the sprocket was the bigest change for me and cheap too.

I've tried several differnt mappings already, but none solved my "cut out" issue. I run a 16 tooth sprocket in the front as well, that helped for offroading. Biggest plus was syncing the throttle body a few times.

why i mentioned the stock silencers is because they have the catalytic convertors inside them so if you are using an Akra map then that map should be for aftermarket exhaust as it richens it up and can cause your symptoms. what year is your bike and what maps have you used so far? also it is quite important that after remapping you do the 15 min idle (reset adaptations) i will try and get you through this as i have 2 x KTM's 950 ADV and 990 SMT also a mechanic, ive stripped both bikes down and redone everything on them and they run great now, need as much info as you can, does it stall only when hot/cold? air filter type? service history? EPC/SAS deleted?@@StromerKZbin

@@markariewilliams I've tried the stock, Zuber and Akra mapping so far. Did also a few init runs. Changed nothing. My cut out issues are when I suddenly let go of the throttle and pull in the clutch above ~ 5000rpm. The idle rpms drop down to 1000rpm and sometimes the engine just dies because of that. I think the engine runs to rich in that moment as i sometimes smell gas after it stalled. The issue is there right after starting the bike. Doesn't matter if it's hot or cold. Even no difference wich gas I use. SAS is still there but turned off. Lambda Sensors are also turned of, as the bike is just unrideable with them on. The whole throttle body was changed from KTM a few years back, because of this issue.....

when it stalls, can you start the bike up with the clutch pulled in and in 1st gear?@@StromerKZbin

@@markariewilliams I can start it in any gear with the starter, but not "jumping" it with letting out the clutch again. Happens in any gear, so the gear position sensor shouldnt be the problem here. I also changed the clutch switch already, wich made no difference at all. Oh and I pull the clutch lever all the way, otherwhise it could be possible that the switch doesnt engage.
