Can Duke 390 2018 (bs4) outer pipe be fitted on RC390?

Would you mind explaining what's the "1mm" is about? Seems like you don't have any issue installing it but you mentioned there is a 1mm difference at around 4:44. Nothing is mentioned in the install manual by ktech either.

it has to do with how the cartridge seals/seats in the bottom of the stancion. theres more material on that piece, so it effectively raises the stancion by 1mm out of the foot of the fork assembly. as long as it seals, and as long as there is plenty of thread engagement in the stancion, i wouldnt worry about it. i recently put ktech internals in my 790 duke, and the cartridges lengthened the fork travel by 10mm in total. sometimes these things just have differences from factory, but it is ok.

How did You removed this top screw with holes from down fork, I did make an tool but after heating, colding etc. it does even move - two days of fight and still nothing
@shiftlove6 жыл бұрын
youre right. its incredibly difficult. but make a tool like the one i showed, heat the stanchion right near the until you see some bubbling of the locktite, and twist it out with the special tool that youve either made, or purchased. if i can get it out with a tool made of scrap metal, then im sure you can too
@shiftlove6 жыл бұрын
also, you want to do it while its hot, dont let it cool down, take the top cap and spacers off of the cartridge internals and slide your tool down over the rod that is protruding, then put bolts into the cap and try and spin it off while its super hot. do this with the fork leg in a vise and youll be able to put enough force on it to spin it off

@shiftlove6 жыл бұрын

Damn dude you are ingeneous you pretty much got to an upgraded cup bike right or what else would u need?
@shiftlove7 жыл бұрын
Pretty much just fairings at this point. I've got a video that will publish on Wednesday that goes over all of the mods I've done and weight I've saved. So...if you subscribe it will notify you when it gets posted! 😜

Also for me it ended up being cheaper to buy a used regular rc390, and then upgrade it as opposed to buying a used cup bike. But I got a damn good deal too. And I'll be able to ride it on the street when I'm done racing it because it has an actual title.

in your opinion, the ktech are better than andreani??
@shiftlove6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely no doubt about it.
@jj0111854 жыл бұрын
do you have any idea if k-tech can fit Ktm Duke 390 2017+?
@shiftlove4 жыл бұрын
yes. same forks on the duke, so you can use the same kit
@cachidril6 жыл бұрын
what is your opinion about the andreani forks?
@shiftlove6 жыл бұрын
I can’t say because I’ve never ridden a bike with them. But people seem to like them. they do install the same way, so this video should cover the installation. But given the choice again i would have still gone with ktech. They are just that good feeling.

what is the standar oil lever for RC 390 with andreani misano 105/KT2 kit?
@shiftlove5 жыл бұрын
you need to worry about the air gap, and not the oil level or capacity. since youve changed the internals of the fork, the capacity will be different than factory. refer to andreani for the correct setting. if they dont have it listed i suggest sending them an email. if they dont respond i suppose you can use the air gap that i used, and if it feels too stiff, then take some oil out with a syringe.

Does anyone have any experience with the ohlins kit for rc390 ?

Which grade of oil shuld be use of Ohlins
@shiftlove6 жыл бұрын
ohlins doesnt make a fork cartridge kit for the rc390. they do however sell their own specific fork oil. for this kit (rac e tech) i opted to use maxima fork oil because i have had good luck with it in the past. as for the oil weight, use what is recommended by ktm, unless you are looking for slower damping characteristic, then use a slightly higher oil weight. but this shouldnt be necessary on the stock internals. because theyre pretty much all spring anyways. i do use a higher oil weight on my minibikes...but thats because theyre undervalved for my weight.

shift_love I’m putting Andreani kit wil dz oil do
