This can be a very complicated install, so if you feel you aren't capable of doing this install, we recommend you send your forks to a qualified mechanic to do the install for you. In this video, we will only be showing the install on the rebound leg, but you can essentially follow the same steps for the compression leg. There are some specialty tools used in this install like the Motion Pro Pivot Suspension Vise that aren't required, but they do make the install go much easier.

The air lock on the damper fork can be carefully removed using a 3-1/2" table top belt sander. But the best way is to take it to a machine shop where a lathe can cut if off very neatly in about one minute for about $25 each tube. Great video covered all the details. However, many cartridges require the use of a spring compressor, but not this K-Tech.

Hye...im from malaysia...how to make the fork softer with OEM spring by using preload adjuster?...by the way,my bike have lost weight around 2kg(164kg)...my weight just 40 kg...when i ride my bike due to braking,i feel like the preload is harder and its same like the oem feel...i wants to learn how to setup preload become smooth while ride and suitable for cornering

You would need to install an aftermarket preload adjuster on the fork before you would be able to make any changes. We have not done that on our bike so I am unsure what affect this will ultimately have. I can tell you installing a fork cartridge as we have here will allow you to make the changes you are looking for. - Van

Van, I installed different cartridges into fz07 which seem to have exactly the same oem forks. After installation one of the forks makes terrible squeaky noise. After inspection its clearly the spring scratching the tube when it bends under the load. I heard the same sound in your video, when you exercised your fork, when setting the rebound level, but mine is ten times worse/louder. It's like the horn that is mounted on kids bikes. 😄 Any advise what can be the issue, or how to eliminate the noise. I did both forks the same way, one is OK, just slightly noisy - like yours in the video. I'm really frustrated about it as I tried anything, turning the spring around, even, re-assemling it all again...

We had just a little bit of noise like you noted for a short period of time then it stopped and never started again. If you have not sorted this out yet I would reach out directly to K-Tech USA. They will help you get this sorted out. - Van

The R710 is a better helmet IMO. If you can swing the additional $50 you should go with the 710. - Brian Van

i really hates when i break front my r3 .. really dips down .. im 185 kilos and i want to add a few ml of oil to my forks .. the stock capacity is 485 ml so should another 10ml suffice? what's youre inputs guys .. thanks ..

Have you replaced the fork springs yet? I would start with that and see if the change is enough. If you really want to get better performance on this bike you need to install a fork cartridge kit like this one or the Ohlins kit. The OEM forks do not really give you much to work with on the R3. @@sportbiketrackgear well im on the other side of the planet and r3 is not really a peoples bike here so parts are hard to find and cheap .. so i added a few ml of oil and change to heavier oil and i like it tho i should have stayed on stock oil capacity .. and im here again because of another issues .. my oil are starting to leak and watching how to disassemble it ..thanks ..

You're 185 kilos (equals to >400 lbs) and riding an R3? First thing you need is new springs. Please don't fool around with adding oil and let a specialist take care of it.
