La moto es preciosa y un paso enorme hacia el futuro y el bienestar de nuestro planeta. Ojalá fuesen todos los vehículos eléctricos, para que nuestro planeta dure muchisimo más y la calidad de vida en él sea muchisimo mejor. Espero que las demás marcas tomen un buen ejemplo y amplien ese mercado tan reducido de vehiculos no contaminantes, sería muy gratificante poder ver un claro futuro limpio para nuestros sucesores y ver como el ser humano hace el bien....

I completely applaud the idea of these bikes. Eventually electric bikes/cars will be our main form of power and transportation due to the trends going on. My only fear is of a short, a break in power, or something going wrong off the face of a jump. I think we've all seen how A riders are (and C for that matter lol), and what forces the bikes are being put through. So I just hope that everything is a-ok if/when these bad boys come out.

@Xaikar Firstly, the price of petrol is never going to drop again, not by any meaningful amount anyway, so as the price of running a petrol vehicle increases electric is going to become far more attractice & more common (although I don't believe it is the future of powered transportation but I won't go into that here). Also, unlike a petrol vehicle which has a certain rev range it delivers peak power at, electric vehicles deliver their peak power all the time.

2 strokes make MORE torque than 4 strokes for the same displacement - that's an engineering fact, there are however reasons why it may FEEL like they don't and there are easy ways to make them more tractable etc - 4 strokes are now often too abrupt (as well as overcomplicated, heavy, high maintenance, prone to overheating) and there's a reason most 'hard enduro' racers use and win on strokers (I currently ride 200exc, '06 TE610 motard/adv and my sisters' electric trials OSET so not biased).

@REDNECKCABLETV 1.5hours=all night? Short nights where you live. You CAN'T fill up everywhere...this is a dirtbike you know, not a street bike, no gas stations in the forest. But yes, there are plugs on about every road corner and in between the corners too, since every building has outlets, the battery can be changed too. I never said "this bike is the ultimate gas motorcycle replacement", I was just saying that statement was incorrect, this one was too.

@markus155 search for team future mx here on youtube. seems like u guys never heard about quantya. i race normaly a 450 but for 4 years im doing also e-bike races here in germany. they are already really strong and hey theire power last longer than mine ^^. 30 min of pinning the throttle and the batteries are still not empty! well its definately slower than normal mx, but i dont care. we build a tecnical track with many corners and rythm sections and its perfect for mx training and a lot of fun!

@TimArmst It's about same weight as any size regular mx. It's true that the range at this point isn't much but it lasts trough one range after which you can change the battery when you normally would would refuel. It also makes possible that in future mx can br brought closer to cities and population, like in this video

I hear you mate but its not like I would take this bike to a farm or nature preserve and tear up important land, myself and most other riders always look for places like muddy trails or woodland singletracks that won't harm anyones precious land by riding on it. Somehow these assholes still have a problem with it and a lot of the time it's the noise. Sorry but I don't see how 30hp electric bikes will ruin anyones land as long as the riders are sensible and respectful which most are.

So it sounds super gay with no cool ripping exhaust note, but think of the potential for us off roaders. I live in the uk and its really hard to go off roading, greenlaning or trail and freeriding because so many people complain about the noise of the bikes. So if we all had electric bikes, these stupid old killjoys wouldn't even hear us having the time of our lives doing what we love best and they wouldn't have the chance to ruin our hobby anymore. Let's say that the first dirtbikes was electrical. Then there came this new bike that ran on petrol. What benefits would you have if you went from electrical to petrol? Noisy, shifter and clutch, exhaust, much more maintenance, vibration in the frame causing bolts to shake loose, stalling engine if locking the rear wheel... I think electric bikes will be at least as good as petrol bikes...

125cc EXC = 38hp 95 kg (Without fuel). And it's probably really hard to fix if it breaks. I wouldn't consider one. But I still think it's really awesome that KTM does this sort of thing, and for the people that care about the environment, it's probably great as well. Now we at least know that we can still ride dirt bikes when the oils runs out. Or at least costs 1000 dollar per liter.

i have to laugh over the guys always yelling here because of the noise, but never tried it. Try it, then talk! Every word of u guys before the test will be absolutely needless. especially because im sure most of u guys are not able to take this thing close to the max on a racetrack! theres much more power than u think! im part of an e-bike promo team and believe me. the sound u guys miss, is perfect. so cool thing to get into a battle on track and u could talk to ur battle"partner" ^^

Electrical motors is all about torque and wide powerband. Like 4-strokes got more torque and wider powerband than 2-strokes, electrical motors has even more torque and wider powerband than 4-strokes. I believe electric bikes has not been fully developed yet, but this bike already generates 42 Nm of torque and 30hp of peak power, which is a good start.

And i repeat e-bikes at this level are not realy new. well now this one is now the top of the e-bikes because of the better suspension and frame and quality but Quantya already made really good bikes for 4 years!!!

@Indy7272 nope too expensive and always will be the combustion engine will be the most favourble because it can run on just about anything with the right modifications plus it will always be cheaper to produce a fuel that can run on out existing infrastructure you ask any oil company and they all say the same the combustion engine is here to stay

there will never be a battery that will last longer than a hour for this thing. in the past 80 years only 4 or 5 diffrent battery designs have been made including modern lithium ion wich has been around for 30 years this is a dream never will be realistic maybe in 50 years but doubt it.

@09bikerman1 I see transportation and joy/competition-riding as two separate things. I don't think the pollution is solved by replacing the motocross bikes. I'd go with replacing the cars we use to transport ourselves around with. Not the ones we compete with.

Correction : its 45 minutes of riding ... 25 minutes maybe for a Pro ama supperscross champion that goes at full throttlle all the time.. it is not for you .. so 25 minutes for pro is enough.. because almost all races are 25 minutes

I ride a 125sx now, and I would rather ride this then a 4 stroke 250. At least this bike will have a decent power to weight ratio. Maybe I'll put a baseball card into the spokes like of the wheel I did when I was little.
