Former Idaho resident, one thing I could always take solace in was community, strong families, faith, resilience, and neighborliness of the residents of Idaho no matter what town it was. To see this happen is just another reminder that even the best places to live have among them people who are capable of evil such as this, and it's getting more pervasive post-pandemic. We can postulate on the reasons for this but one thing is certain: This right here is the reason we HAVE law enforcement. Our LEOs are fellow members of our communities, many with spouses and children who they hope to come home to each day; and they're among _very_ few with the character to do this job on a daily basis when so many are working against them. Pray for ALL of them and show them and the family of this fallen officer the support they so desperately need presently.

This is outrageous! I see the violence towards offices everyday on the internet and am devastated that it has now come to Boise. Idaho citizens love their first responders but like anywhere else we have drugs and criminals. Condolences to his family and to all officers and deputies.
