Nice work on the comparison between figures. I never got the CW due to silly price and that foot. I did contemplate getting the KO but that foot strikes again. Maybe one day someone will do a kit like the CW. For now, I have higher priorities. This is a non issue at present.

So glad I didnt overpay for the CW Devy. Because what I was about to pay was the cost of TW Constructor for a secondhand copy. Now they reissued the original at MSRP, in addition to this set, which is WAAAAAY more attractive in scale and price for what is an older mold.

I have this set also, it's awesome. I love on the back of the box the hand-drawn Scavenger shovel, and it says his main enemy is Anime Man! Hilarious! Like many, I too would dig an upgrade kit. Articulating fingers are a must. The foot situation is a whole discussion in and of itself.

I like this mold I got CW Devy the day he came out at TRU I mashed up 2 kits the Perfect Effect & Shadow Fisher shoulder & forearm upgrades, led head & I custom battle damaged painted him u gotta see him.

Upgrade kit for CW Defensor may work with him to be the same size probably for this KO Devastator. Or turn Defensor's hips how some people do to him and Bruticus to make them both a bit taller.

I sold most of my loose chug to 2 local collectors in big lots. They got a deal and I got some cash for new Mps. Most of them go for what you paid and less if loose. If you sell separate it may take years. You may have luck with facebook groups, craigslist, bookoo. Trades work also but only local never trade though mail! Hope that helps.

I got mine from Sirtoys for $35 without the box; sucks that the shipping cost pretty much negates anything you'd save. It's pretty nice, indeed. I really hope that they downsize the PerfectEffect or the DNA Design upgrade kits to match. As for the black squares, they're also black on the Hasbro Combiner Wars Devastator. Takara's Unite Warriors Devastator has different paint apps that are supposed to make it more show accurate, while Hasbro's is supposed to be more toy accurate...even if some of the choices Hasbro made with certain figures tend to make no sense. UW is definitely for the folks who want show accuracy, which is kinda similar to the rash that is the Masterpiece Plus Series. (UW01 Superion has Slingshot by default; CW Superion defaults to newcomer Alpha Bravo, who replaced Slingshot in the IDW comics due to Slingshot's death. UW02 Menasor defaults to Wildrider, CW has Off-road (who apparently, the mold was originally intended to be Ruckus or something). UW03 Guardian/Defensor defaults to having Groove, CW Defensor replaces him with Rook and makes Groove into a Legends class chest minion. UW07 Bruticus has a proper space shuttle Blastoff and Vortex is modified to have four helicopter blades, CW Blastoff is a Slingshot repaint and Vortex is a straight up Alpha Bravo repaint...though we eventually DID get shuttle Blastoff, it was the "reversed torso" version based on UW Shuttler (aka Movor) from the UWEX Baldigus (aka Ruination) set.) Also got the Cool Become Brave KOs of CW Groove & UW Hotspot. (It REALLY SUCKS that they didn't do the Stunticons, I need Dragstrip & Wildrider on the CHEAP!!) Hotspot...sucks. The plastic is awful, and the tolerances are crazy. Never even mind just posing Hotspot (which feels fine)...transforming him to vehicle mode or to Defensor's torso is just plain SCARY.

Brilliant! Always thought the 19in was way too big compared to the other combiners like Bruticus and Volcanicus. Have only "two" combiners so far. Volcanicus and one that is mostly Jazz and an Inferno. Can't decide if i want to call him "Disco Inferno" or "Jazzatron 4000"

Which one should I go for? This underscaled CW Devestator set or the DX 09 "Hulkie" oversized KO? Kinda leaning torwards the latter since I hear the joints in combined mode are very tight and snug and the plastic seems pretty good too plus apparently some die-cast bits.

You are actually getting a good deal on TW Devy for $500. If you bought them when they came out I believe they were $100 each so $600. They also ship it ready to assemble because most want it for combined mode. Thanks

The original release is about the same size but the new KO is smaller to scale with the other Combiner wars series. Hope that helps
